I am a regular customer of Archgate. They've got a wide range seafood and vegetarian dishes which I love. I've never been a fan of lamb but when I tried some of the lamb dishes at Archgate I changed my mind about lamb. I think that the prices are great taking into account the portions you get. The atmosphere is also great and decor fantastic, you feel like you're really dining in Istambul and not in the middle of busy London. I recommend it to anyone.

DONT GO THERE. I went to the Archgate Cafe because I read the great reviews. I was so dissapointed with the food it was tasteless bland and burnt., I had lentel cake with salad. Worth asking what is in the salad, there was what looked like left over pasta with bits of 'something' added! The lentel cake was mostly potato it had no flavour whatsoever it had been fried, burnt in the re-heating, had no seasoning so apart from the burnt taste on the outside it was tasteless. Apart from the bland pasta the salad had grated carrot with a little wilting lettuce with a scrimping of olive oil dressing . The cost £6.95. I ordered a soya latte which I could not drink it tasted strange like dishwater. My boyfriend had the full breakfast which included tea or coffee which was included in the cost £6.95. The bill was £18.00 which means that the coffee was £4.10 on its own. The waitress was very sweet though and it was her first day and I hope for her sake she moves on very soon. Just dont go there.

Me and my partner go to the Archgate on a very regular basis. It is without doubt our favourite place to dine in London because of its outstanding food. It's simply delicious. Large portions, quality produce and a wide variety of dishes. It's particularly good for breakfast.

I only go here for lunch from the office, but it one of our regular choices. Decent food and very good prices. It was a disaster before the smoking ban - as we usual had to choke down our food as fast as possible since the place was always filled with a cloud of cigarette smoke.

Now though it much more pleasant. Still loud on the inside and a bit cramped. But hard to argue with good food and good value.

We've been to Archgate twice and will definitely be going back! The food is excellent - try the mixed meze selection for the opportunity to taste a huge variety of Turkish starters. The portions are really hearty, prices reasonable and service pleasant and quick.

The Archgate has become one of our regular haunts because of the excellent quality of the dishes, the superb service and outstanding value for money. It's a great antidote to all the neon-fronted Archway kebab emporiums!!

Nice food, nice people, better than fair prices. We shared a nice calamari starter (grilled calamari, very fresh, in a robust tomato sauce) and had lamb with aubergine and the Anatolian Special respectively. Lamb was perfect, succulent and set off nicely by the aubergine and roast pepper garnish. Anatolian Special was kofte lamb in a wrap, cut into attractive rounds. Nice looking and tasting, but the pita wrap made it too heavy - no problem, just unwrap it and push pita to the side.

No room for dessert, but we intend to be back.

One quibble: it's a long narrow couple of rooms, and one person smoking can make the air kind of unpleasant... Roll on the ban on restaurant smoking this summer!

I really like Archgate. It's a great place to go in a group as there is something for everyone and good vegetarian options. It's also possible to have a delicious meal that's healthy!

The staff are the best, really friendly but not intrusive. And I always enjoy watching the fish...
