we waited and waited and then hoorah it opened ! what a let down ! They shouldnt have bothered waiting for the wood, looks like a 70s sauna, so expensive, view of the bus stop and the building site (nice !) what a shame I live locally but at those prices give me cool and slick Zuma anyday.I will not be back.

I have been to Mocoto twice already. This is not a Boteco as some call it but a proper restaurant. Bar upstairs serves great streetfood and caipirinhas and the restaurant serves food from many of brazilian cuisines. Granted service can be improved and deco is impersonal but to those that say that they are dissapointed about the food it is because they know nothing about Brazilian food. Too bad for them, leave Mocoto for the rest of us!

I think that Mocotos' have got the balance just right when it comes to the food. The chefs have made sure that they use the best traditional Brazilian ingredients but have balanced it so it suits a British palette.I will definatly be going there again!

I was there the other night with some friends, and what a disappointment...
Myself and my friends love Brazil, and Mocoto just does not have it. Although it is very beautiful, it lacks personality.
Service was terrible, waiters seems to be lost most of the time, no one seem to be managing anything and they probably also brought their manageress from Brazil (with all that wood!), because she could hardly speak any English!!
Food was all right, nothing special. You can eat a lot better in Brazil, in a real boteco. Desserts looked very old fashioned with some weird sorbets.
But the drinks are great!
For all that money, go to a real restaurant like Zuma or Hakkasan.
Mocoto needs more than guts, it definitely needs some personality!!

Very disapointing!!!
I was there on Friday w a friend who was sure this would be new best restaurant In London, and we both left thinking it was not…
The food was fine but not very adventurous, very safe for a new style cuisine, I don’t know much about Brazilian food but it was a million times tastier when I was in Rio on holidays. Unfortunately what let the restaurant down is the awful service, very charming waiter who don’t have any idea of where they are or what they are serving.
Wrong wine brought to the table, a manager who couldn’t tell the difference between cheese bread and white wine, waiter having argument behind my table, and manager who didn’t seem to be leading a tea. What a shame…
Ok food and terrible service do make the formula for a successful restaurant, and the bar was empty on their first Friday.
VERY SAD…

Conjouring up all the pizazz and atmosphere of a grand downtown cantina, this new project from Rio-born restauranteur David Ponte is what London truly needs more off. Great food in an unpretentious yet smart downstairs dining room, and a truly funky bar upstairs playing Brazilian sounds that is bound to attract a beautiful crowd.

This is probably one of the best all round restaurants I have been to in London. Great food, drinks, atmosphere and music, and to top that the service is great, they can't be anymore helpful. Highly recommended.
