I have just about recovered from last Thursday...!! ( 31.08.2008 ) YES girls at last Julie has walked me and herself right down the aisle and we had a Fantastic day all round. (Sorry girls Im now TAKEN)
First the wonderfull day kicked off well with the wedding at Langtons.Then on to MASONS with 52 of our friends and family. Matt himself was in the hot seat as he made sure of a great day was had by all by attending the kitchen. Laura, was on hand to look after us, including all the waiters and waitresses.
I did wonder if Masons could handle the booking? From 2.3pm until well after 10pm we were looked after so well and couldn't wish for a better day.
THANK YOU so much Matt and Laura and staff..We can only say THANK YOU for everything you and your great staff did on this our wedding day..!!
Highly recommended .......We have also booked our Chrismas dinner for 6 people as well..10 out of 10 this time..!!
Just a foot note...Matt was very kind to send a young man over to our house before the wedding took place to help out with the drinks etc.. Thanks George for all your help..!!

Not a particularly enoyable restaurant on the two occassions I have been there; similar experiences to the other commentators on this site: poor service in the form of inexperienced and unmotivated waiters/waitresses, tardy drinks and quite honestly far too expensive for what you get.

I'am quite happy to leave another report on this great resturant. I have now visited Masons 4 times in the last 3 months.Very happy about the service and food. On my last visit I took along with me 2 business friends who both enjoyed the lovely food and drinks.
Later this year I will be marring my girlfriend and we have decided to host our dinner at Masons.We have been in contact with them about the meal and drinks to be served, and on all ocassions we have been spoken to and handled in a most proffesional way.
We are happy to allow Masons to handle our SPECIAL DAY..!!

Visited Masons on 15th July 2008. The scallop starter, served in their shells were to die for! Never had scallops like it!
The whole Lemon Sole was cooked to perection, the only complaint i did not have any room for desert.
Seafood lovers will not be disappointed with restaurant.

Hve been wanting to visit Masons for a while. Planned for 4 of us to go for Sunday lunch on 25.5.08. Was not disappointed.
Greeted by an older lady who was pleased to see us. We sat for drinks which arrived promptly and was shown to our table after half an hour. The menu was impressive and I chose the butternut squash risotto for starters, followed by the sea bass which was beautiful. My husband had the duck salad followed by the beef and yorkshire pud filled with roast potatoes.
The service was excellent only one annoying thing a waitress who had the most annoying voice and was constantly asking if everything was ok. This did not put us off but it was rather frustrating!

We have eaten at masons numerous times over the last 4 years and i have to say that enough is enough. We chose masons at christmas and i felt that we were ripped off but thought everyone does it during festive season. However, in May?! I think the service has hit an all time low and the menu promises one world but unfortunately delivers entirely another.
Our drinks took an age to arrive and there were only four of us. No one cared.
I am really sorry masons but you have taken my money for the last time.

Ate at Masons on Saturday night - could not fault the service and attention of the staff food was fantastic an overall very nice resturant. all the staff were allways smiling and more than happy to offer advise on food and wine. Would like to thank all the staff for a great night out.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT. We celebrated our Son's 30th birthday with 19 guests at this restaurant 6.04.2008. On booking we were given sample menus and told we could order from the full menu. When seated we were told we could only order from a 'restricted menu'. The food was quite good, but the SERVICE WAS VERY POOR. As we had been waiting for a while, we asked for some bread rolls to be put on the table and were told they would come with the meal. We also asked for some plain prawns for a starter for a young person and were told we could only have what was on the menu and the prawns were all frozen. One main meal and a desert were forgotten or left off the order and were served late. Our waitress was so sullen and almost rude and not at all helpful. She was not a teenager, but just appeared not to be interested in waiting on tables. I emailed Masons Restaurant on 7.04.2008 and am still waiting for a response!
What should have been an excellent occasion was spoilt by the attitude of the waiting staff. Dining at this restaurant we were made to feel that we were a nuisance.
We chose this restaurant because two years ago we had a 30th birthday there for our Daughter and the food, service and atmosphere was extremely good. We ate here on Valentine's Day and the service was o.k.
We will not be going back for sure.

I have been to Masons on a number of occasions.Birthdays, working dinner, friends up to 18 of us. I have found that the food is of the highest of standards.I and my guests found the menu pleasing and easy to understand.No fussy names or clever words that just ment a dish with a garnish.Good prices on the many wines. All were in stock.The food is very, very good..!!
I and my friends have eatten at Masons since the restaurant opened it's doors, I would definitely recommend this great place for any occasion.I have held our Christmas dinner at Masons 3 years running now with up to 18 guests.Service was very good and we all had a great time.Price was good and we all enjoyed ourselves.
I have eatten at many restaurants and had good and bad service from many.I would say in my opinion that for service and food quality you would have to go a long way to beat Masons.
And befor you all think I work there, your wrong.I work in admin.
I think sometimes people expect the earth and beyond.Just remember some times the person who serves you has just started, and we all have to start some where..!!
Give Masons a try .........For me a 5* restaurant..!!I

We went for a meal just over a week ago to celebrate a 50th birthday. The service was appalling for what should be a top class restaurant. The plates were banged down by 16-17yr old young waiters with no service skills, the food was luke warm and the sauce was non existant. The orders were taken wrongly and we waited over 20 mins for our bill. We asked for liquer coffes which were bought up, removed from saucers and "plonked" down on the mat of the nearest diner to pass to the recipient!
I have emailed the manager for his response, I had no reply to my first email, so I emailed again to ask if they have received it. I received a short badly spelt reply saying they would deal with it in due course, I am still waiting, surely it does not take a week to look into a basic complaint. I have given them time to reply , but they obviously have no thought for their customers. We certainly wont go back and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
