Fantastic restaurant. Delicious food and lovely staff. Thoroughly enjoy myself everytime I visit the restaurant. Everyone I ever take to the restaurant says what amazing food it is and is very good value too.

I went with my friend to the Elephant Walk this Saturday and it was …amazing. I have never tried Sri Lankan food before but my friend who has been to Sri Lanka several times told me: you will love it. I was not sure because I do not like spicy food. Likely for me food was just wonderful from start to finish and the waiter asked me how spice I would like to have it. I went for mild but next time I will go for medium. We had egg hoppers and tuna cutlets for starters. For main we ordered kingfish curry, chicken Sri Lanka, dry aubergine and cabbage with vegetable rice and rotti. Everything was full of aromatic flavours and the curries were light on the tummy. Kitchen was a little bit too slowly but we got Indian bites on the house. The waiters were charming and the atmosphere was good.

Had a meal for 2 children & 3 adults at elephant walk. drinks were soft drinks & 2 glasses of house redwine. The bill for a 3 course meal was over a £100.00. The service was friendly. Some had the starters served early as was the case with the main course. The biriyani was very good although the kottu rotti was not as good. Potions were generous. One of the main drawbacks were they did not accept credit cards & hope this is temporary.

Don't be put off by the rather bland decor: Tasty, fresh food for a remarkably reasonable price. I can't vouch for the authenticity as I haven't visited this part of the world but the flavours were interesting and unusual - well worth checking out for a really unexpected treat. Recommended!

Six of us had a family lunch at the Elephant Walk today. After over 40 years in UK, this is the first time I felt that I was eating freshly cooked, really tasty Sri Lankan food outside Sri Lanka! The service was excellent too - a very pleasent young lady served us and we were very well looked after.
Went there because of a recommendation at a dinner/dance last Saturday but the last review I read on this site was unjustifiably scathing of the service. This didn't put me off and I am pleased that I ignored someone who didn't know what they were stating on a public site!
There are two things constructive that need to be said: the place needs a bit more atmosphere - perhaps, get away from the cafe` image and maybe, a little help and explanation for non Sri Lankans about what's on offer on the menu. I knew exactly what I wanted but many may not and will miss out on the vadais, dosai and the gothamba rotis!
The rest of the family enjoyed the meal very much and it was such good value for money.

I have visited the restaurant a number of times as it is lovely to find different cusisine to try. At first our experience here wasn't that great, with waitresses that didn't seem to have a clue what you were trying to order and extremely slow service. These problems all seem to have been ironed out now and the food can't be faulted, I love the Kadale as a starter and there is loads of choice for main courses. Please give it a go it's great to have such a little gem on our doorstep

The Elephant Walk was an excellent choice of venue for our luncheon meeting. The food was delicious, just as good as home cooked and the service was superb. The piping hot starters and the main course was served to the table by very friendly staff.I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Their Tuna cutlet for a starter and the 'vattalappan' for a dessert is a must in your choice of menu.

What a great restaurant! The service was sweet and endearingly quirky which added to the charm. The food was absolutely fantastic- the flavours were out of this world: the kind of fresh and strong flavours you expect from Thai food. It makes a change from eating North Indian food which can be repetative, I like the coconut flavours you get from the South of the Subcontinent with the emphasis on sea food. I would recommend taking the plunge and ordering individual dishes rather than the set- meals. The prices are good but remember that 10% will be added for service. The calamari starter could have been a little bigger. Apart from that, this restaurant is still an undiscovered secret waiting to become a legend. I really hope that it will stay here for me to return to time and time again.

I visited this restaurant with a group of friends for a birthday party and the service could not be worse! The wrong food came out for a couple of the guests and the waiters were clumsy and forgetful, spilling wine over the table. The food was mediocre, most of the dishes were bland.
In the end we were accused by the manager of stealing a bottle of wine which we ordered but never came out! Probably my worst dining experience this year. The whole group of us will never go back to Elephant Walk.

Without a doubt the poorest restaurant choice in West Hampstead. The mango chutney was so watered down it didn't stay on the popadoms (no exageration!). The main courses were late and two of the four were wrong. When they were sent back the new dishes arrived unnervingly quickly. In summary a very poor meal out......
