Went to this restaurant on Sunday evening after not visiting for eight years! It had completely changed in decor but the food quality and prices were just as reasonable as before. On the main menu all starters 1.95 befoe 7pm and 2.95 after and mains 4.95 before 7pm and 6.45 after. We had a lovely 2 course meal of very good quality with a bottle of house red for £26 we could not believe the size of the bill! If I was to criticise I would say that lack of non smoking area spoilt it a little for me and the bread offered was white and brown sliced from a packet. But hey we've been to restaurants at £50 a head and not been offered so much as a crumb of bread! Altogether good food and excellent value. Will definitely be returning to see the opera singer.

Went to Little Bay for the first time last Monday, great food and good service. And the 2 opera singers were fantastic. Will be back.

We went for the first time just before Christmas 2006. At first it just looked like a nice busy restaurant, with lots of atmosphere etc, but if you get seated in the back half of the resturant, there are loads of individual booths, all different shapes and sizes, some high up with small staircases to get to them, some underneath, some cosy etc etc. Some of them look like balcony/boxes from a theatre. We had a booth which sat 3 and it was really cosy and private! The food and superb and for the price you cannot beat it in my opinion. The service was top rate too. Lastly, they had the funniest musical entertainment I have ever seen, which was an Opera Singer called Toby Sims who has an amazing voice and walks all over the resurant singing to groups, and later climbing on tables, and kissing whoever he can! Was the funniest thing I have seen in such a long time and made for a really enjoyable night. He is there for a few odd dates here and there and they have other entertainment on other days, but even without any entertainment, this place has lots of atmosphere, busy with groups talking and laughing with staff busy sorting eveyone out. This place is highly recommended and remember, you can have a great night out and still have a choice of main courses that start at only £6 or £7! I have just got off the phone after booking again and am sure will be there many times in 2007. Superb!

Went last night to celebrate a birthday.

Food unbelievably good and very cheap.

Nice to find a proper restaurant after all these boring food pubs! Decorations amazing, lots of small booths a bit like boxes in a theatre. Arrive before 7pm as everything is cheaper and the place fills up quickly. Last night there was an opera singer, he brings his own music and then quite informally wanders around singing. A lovely touch.

The food is lovely, the service is very friendly and it is very reasonable too. The decorations are interesting inside and there are lots of little 'theme' rooms dotted around. I have been several times and a quickly becoming a 'regular'.

I was surprised at how good the food was. The mushroom starter was delicious, the Salmon was excellent and plenty of it, and the pistachio sorbet was yummy. For three courses plus extra vegetables, chips specials and plenty of wine, liqueurs and coffee, the bill was still approx £25 per person. The only disapointment was that we were seated upstairs, away form the main part of the restaurant, but will definitely go again to enjoy the full ambience of the place.

The interior design was startling, it was strange because at an initial glance there was no way of telling there was so much more within. It really was like stepping into someone’s dream with the romantic, inventive, creative and imaginative décor; both my friend and I were totally stunned. To top it all off, we were then serenaded by an opera performer, who really did have the most amazingly powerful and magnificent voice. The whole thing was just incredible, and I felt as though I had been transported to another world for an evening. I’ll definitely be revisiting next time I want some luxurious escapism with delicious food and surreal surroundings!

A uniquely eclectic (or ill-considered if you were to be harsh) mix of interior design elements gives a clue to the hotch-potch of dishes available. But you are not going to Rhodes 24 or Maison de Quattre Saison so you can comfortably cut them some slack here! In fact it is like sitting a mad uncle's potting shed.

The service is incredibly friendly though not the quickest. And the food quality is good but not great. But this does not matter because you can happily pay £20 for 3 courses with coffee and not be hungry for 48 hours!

A restaurant with real personality and warmth, it is one of Croydon's little hidden gems.
