I visited Little Bay for the first time on 2nd Jan 2008. It was recommended by a friend. I also have little locally for most of my life and didn't know the restaurant existed! It is a beautiful place. The food, staff/service, decor, enertainment was excellent. It was the nicest place I have ever eaten in and relatively inexpensive. I am going to return later on this month.

I chose this restaurant for my birthday meal because of it's great reviews, what a disappointment!
My starter was a salad with pub grub quality goats cheese bites, can't remember what they called it on the menu, but it was of very low quality. For my main I had the steak, which was chewy and lacked flavour.
Now I have found out that not only was the food quality poor, but according to a survey of grubbiest places to eat in Croydon, they didn't even qualify for one star for hygiene standards.
Only good thing I could say is that the staff were nice.

I cannot fault Little Bay after about 30 visits. Beautiful decor, outstanding food, polite fast service and a great atmosphere. I take a lot of my friends there, most live locally & had never been there before, and all shocked that this gem exists in Croydon!! 10 out of 10

After friends raving about Little Bay, finally visited (wednesday evening) and wow, what a fun night!
The menu although not extensive had enough to still have the "cant decide" factor.
The Opera singer was very entertaining....coming round to our balcony table on several occasions to seranade me and the other ladies on the table, which the guys found hallarious.....as did the the rest of the dinners!
For 3 courses, two glasses of wine, water, coffee and tip....£25 per head! An absolute BARGAIN. Wednesdays at Little Bay are now the start of the weekend!

I have been visiting Little Bay regularly for the past 2 years and can safely say that I have never had a bad meal or bad service.
A small menu allows for the prices to remain low, the service quick and the quality of the food high. The Wine list is small but well chosen.
All of my friends and family that have eaten at Little Bay love it and have gone back. The atmosphere is great. They have a Live Opera singer in mid week and a lounge singer on a Saturday night.
Watch out for the Sweets, they are huge!
£40 will get you 3 Courses and a reasonable bottle of Wine for 2.

Two of us went to Little Bay for dinner on Sunday evening. The first thing I noticed was the decor. The front of the restaurant looks par for the course (and in fact when I popped in before we sat by the window and didn't see the rest of the venue). However, walk down a little corridor and you end up going down some stairs into a great cavernous space that resembles a mini-theatre with an orchestra pit and royal boxes on the upper level! The service was very quick and friendly. I couldn't believe the prices - very very reasonable. A great menu, but my only posible gripe would be that my duck was slightly dry. Still, can't complain considering the price - £15 each for two courses and a beer, water and apple juice. Will be visiting again.

Went to this restaurant on Sunday evening after not visiting for eight years! It had completely changed in decor but the food quality and prices were just as reasonable as before. On the main menu all starters 1.95 befoe 7pm and 2.95 after and mains 4.95 before 7pm and 6.45 after. We had a lovely 2 course meal of very good quality with a bottle of house red for £26 we could not believe the size of the bill! If I was to criticise I would say that lack of non smoking area spoilt it a little for me and the bread offered was white and brown sliced from a packet. But hey we've been to restaurants at £50 a head and not been offered so much as a crumb of bread! Altogether good food and excellent value. Will definitely be returning to see the opera singer.
