Went to the Cuban last week for a friends birthday on a Thursday, the place was buzzing. Even though the staff seemed very pushed they were nothing but attentive to our table. Great Happy hour deal and the food was delicious!

We had a mixture of tapas to share and then main meals. As it was a friends birthday the staff came over and sung to us and gve her a free shot which was a nice touch. Atmosphere was great with a DJ starting around 8pm and we ended up dancing the night away!

If you're looking for a stiff formal restaurant this isn't for you but for some fun along the way I would reccomend the Cuban!

Had the WORST Christmas work do ever this week at this 'restaurant'. When we arrived (1pm) the place was empty, just before Christmas - this should have been a sign. After being left to find our way to our table thanks to an absence of any staff to greet us, we made our way down the worn out passageway which smelled of sick and lemon disinfectant, to our party of 30-odd. We sat elbow-to-elbow on cheap, broken plastic chairs and shared a 4 person platter of lukewarm 'starters' of chicken bones in breadcrumbs, doritos covered in guacamole and some kind of pineapple in a pancake, between 7 of us. We were informed that the drinks vouchers we were given as part of the booking were valid for 'house vodka, gin or rum' and a choice of 2 bottled beers only. Unfortunately fresh juice appears not to be very Cuban, as mixers on offer were a range of flouescent syrups, and the orange juice 'had not arrived'. The main course of more chicken bones covered in pureed mango and sugar; a grey leather insole which had been cooked 3 weeks ago under a hairdryer (called 'beef' on the menu) or Salmon was a matter of picking the least of 3 evils. I recommend the napkins, or better still ask for whatever the waiting staff sat down to eat next to our table, as it looked to be the only fresh meals served. Desert was cold custard named 'Creme Cubana'. The staff were rude to the point of comedy, informing us of the 'important' booking they had following ours, and refusing to honour a long-held booking for a reserved area for our party, despite the place being empty. The cutlery was dirty, the music poor and apart from the obligatory Che Guavara picture, there is absolutely no trace of anything remotely Cuban, especially where the food was concerned. The atmosphere was souless, due to the place being empty despite being close to Christmas and in the middle of an office block. Obviously they have experienced this place already. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I didn't pay for my 'meal' (my work did) so I have no intention of approaching the restaurant for an explanation, as I can't really imagine an acceptable excuse for this experience, nor would I ever consider returning. Pathetic.

I went to the Cuban in Feb this year and we had a fantastic time. I really couldn't fault this place. I am from the Caribbean and loved the modern take on some classics - and I can tell when food's bad believe me!

Our waitress was worth her large tip: I could not decide on what desert to have and so she brought me two on one plate!

Ps the snapper is fabulitious!

For lunch, Cuban is not a bad place for a bite & a few drinks. After work forget it, the food is terrible. Tried dinner 3 times & all 3 were rubbish. Honestly go elsewhere.

We had an xmas party at the Cuban - our reserved area was the top of the stairs with people walking through us, with 5 seats for 30 people. For £25 a head we literally got potato salad and cold meat (not very Cuban). The staff were very rude - do not go there (unless very drunk!).

Cocktail list is very good. Service is appalling as is the food - I've been there twice and the bill has been wrong each time. Definitely a drinks only venue (and be prepared to wait to get one!!)
