I don't usually review restaurants or anything else for that matter but after attending the Royal India with my partner and daughter (age 12) I felt I had to.

We decided to try the all day buffet, when we arrived there was no one in sight. After 5 minutes waiter arrived and seated us. He went to get us plates and was missing for ages. When he came back he starting taking another tables order. No problem there, because we then realise why everything was taking so long, he was the only waiter serving in the restaurant!

He finally came back with our plates so we went to get some food and guess what, there weren't any! He apologised and said more food would be right out.

Waited another ten minutes or so and about six pieces of chicken arrived. We eat the few pieces that were there and left.

First buffet I've been to without any food!

I have eaten at this restaurant many times and as any other place i experienced good and bad times. But my recent visit was mind blowing. This place has improved in many ways. They even have a new menu which was very descriptive and different to other Indians. Firstly, the staff were young, professional and very attentive and knew proper english! Secondly, the restaurant seemed very busy so i thought they may lack in service. Little did i know that i was wrong. The service was very quick and efficient, food was on time and fresh. Also, very good value for money.

I have ordered many takeaways from this pace and the food is amazing. So i thought why not pop in one day to dine in. It was a very busy friday night but we still managed to get a table for 6. The staff were very friendly, professional and attentive. The restaurant looked very romantic once the candles were lit n lights were dimmed. When the food arrived it was astonishing! The portions were very generous and it all was all hot and fresh. I have tried and tested many Indians in N16 but this one is definitely one to keep going to,

What's happened? we have been using the Royal India off and on for several years now, but in the last 6 month's it's got to the wall, on takeaways get ready for a long wait, i reckon the telephone staff need to go & learn some basic language skills, food has also gone down hill, from very tasty to verging on bland samey taste... Buck up Royal India, as we've left you for someone else on the High Street...

A friend and I picked the Royal India last night - what a big mistake that was! The staff were stupid, the food was below average and it took an hour and a half for the food to get to us. If you want to go to a good Indian restaurant, my advice would be to head to east London! Never again Royal India.

I'm not sure how this place has not been shut down by the health department. It's dirty, the food came cold and the bread was stale. I don't know how you can serve naan bread a day old. I think the whole point of it is for it to come from an oven, no?

Also, if you ask for tap water, they don't bring it to you. I had to ask 3 times and each time the server rolled his eyes at me.

Avoid‎‎ I've eaten here three times and will never eat again. Staff is rude and dishonest about discounts. Food was coldish and dishes have more sauce than meat. Why go through all this if there are many good restaurants around? AVOID!

Given up on this place. Used to use them quite often but they are too hard work.

My partner and I take it in turns to ring them because it is such a painful experience. They never know where you live ! - you have to explain where Clissold Park is ! On top of this they advertise offers such as free beer on orders over 22 pound and do not include them even though on the phone they say they will.

The food is good but going through the ordeal of speaking to them on the phone and then being dissapointed when stuff is missing is not worth it.

My custom is going elsewhere.
