Negozio Classica

I come here every now and then as I live locally. This is the best place to sample decent Italian wine. Staff is keen to share their knowledge and to help choosing wines. The food menu is not what you would expect from a restaurant, the only hot dish is the ''Beef Tagliata'', an amazing seared beef filet served Tuscan style with olive oil and balsamic and lots of rocket and parmesan. There is a great selection of grappas too.

It seems that a few people have had issues with the service here. It's unfortunate that the maitre d' at Negozia is so unbelievably rude and pretentious. It used to be a place I frequented.
I was there with a client discussing a contract (we arrived at 4pm when no one else was there). We had a coffee; had a few pages of paper between us; were planning to finish up and then have a drink and food. At 5pm the not-so-charming maitre d' handed us our bill and hissed - "This is a bar. If you want to bring your work here you can leave". It was quite astounding. Particularly when so many places all over London accept that people discuss business in their premises. We weren't exactly offensive customers and his manner was, frankly, appalling.
Never again.
