Not sure if my mother would appreciate me calling it the best roast ever, but it was certainly pretty damned good.

Had a great Sunday afternoon here, rolled out very full but extremely contented. I had the roast chicken, which was enormous and the roast potatoes were perfectly crunchy. The pork and the beef were exceptional, particularly the pork. Nice wines, and a great location - the bill was a bit on the steep side but we weren't shy with the wine so it was worth it overall.

I have avoided this place because the reviews were so bad when it first opened. But when we pitched up on a Friday night they found us a table and wow - converted. Oysters and scallops were both great to start. Main course sea bream was one of the best fish dishes ever - a superb fresh bit of fish with no messing about. The significant other had pork, which he liked. For some reason I'd expected something rustic,(Ye Olde Borough Markette Restaurant) but it was modern and airy (not glacial). I hope to go back soon.

P.S. I love Giles Coren, and don't think he's peevish or apoplectic, but perhaps verging on choleric.

I took my mum, dad and sister to Roast for Mothers day. It was a sunday so there's a resident saxophanist, double bass player and singer for background music. Really adds to the atmosphere. We had a typical sunday roast and my dad said it was the best he'd had in London. It is expensive but worth it. There were even a few celebs there too which made my mum's day!

What a great place, we had never been before and from the moment we entered the restaurant the staff were pleasant and so helpful.

We both had the roast pork which was out of this world, probably one of the best roast's I've eaten in a long time. The sides were also delicious although they were large so best not to order to many.

The only down side was that it was expensive and all the little extra's do add up, however with food so good I would go back in a second!

Great food, but you should get far better service for the price.

The menu was simple and basic. The quality of food was exceptional with the meat being some of the best I have tasted and real melt in the mouth veg.

However the prices are high and they charge for every little thing (including tap water!). I wouldn't have minded as it was a special occasion, but the service was really poor and I really felt that it should have been exceptional for the bill (and I hate the fact they automatically add the service charge on the bill!!) We weren't shown to our seat and we had to wait ages to be served. When we were served (by serveral different waiters!) they mixed up the cutlery and the dishes and didn't ask if everything was ok and weren't exactly friendly. For the price it should be 10 times better.

I was taken by a friend when they were doing a two for one offer on afternoon tea. it was a Friday, and we decided to have the £24 champagne tea. This involved a glass of champagne to start. We then chose our teas which were brought in cute little pots. They brought a three layer cake dish. On the bottom there were masses of absolutely fresh brown and white assorted sandwiches, cucumber, egg mayonnaise, tomato and coronation chicken. On the top layer there were four freshly made warm scones with clotted cream and home made jam. We only managed one of these. On the middle layer, there were a couple of mince pies, some chocolate pots, some slices of home made almond cake and a very good home made carrot cake.

Apart from an initial mistake on the bill, charging us the full price, which was quickly corrected, we decided that this was the bargain of the year, with service the bill was £27 for two. During the day there are super views of the Borough Market downstairs which makes it even more fun. Unfortunately they only do afternoon tea from Monday to Friday. Without the champagne, this is still only £15 a head, which is much cheaper than a lot of other places.

I've only eaten here twice before, but both times have been fantastic.

The first time I had the lamb off the menu which was amazing, although the mash was a little more like garlic puree, so left most of it. Second time I choose the beef special, which was average, however my starter and dessert definitely made up for it.

Just a word of warning that unless you are in a group, do not order more than one or two extra vegetable dishes as they are large, especially the carrots which are enough to serve 4.

The service & wine selection were both very good and the restaurant itself is very nice, especially if you are seated by the large windows which over look the hustle and bustle going on around borough market.

Excellent restaurant, which I highly recommend for both business and social entertaining.

I am fortunate that my customers are based very close to Roast and therefore is the obvious choice when taking clients to dinner.

We had dinner there last night and although I rang on the day the front of house staff were exceptional in fitting us in for dinner.

The meal, as always was fantastic and the wine list has so much choice you could never get bored.

The Scallops as an entree with the Welsh beef main was delicious and the port to follow just topped the evening.

Lovely location with the buzz of Borough Market right below you and the view of St Pauls through the window.

Breakfast here is mediocre and over-priced. The coffee has all the flavour of dishwater. For the full english you get two sausages and two eggs, which to be fair arent bad; three rashers of streaky bacon without the streak, because they are 90% fat; one very small tomato cut in half; one small mushroom swimming in fat; a slice of over-fried black pudding and a piece of fried bread so rock-hard you have to make sure you dont break your teeth on it. I had to order some toast as an extra, which came so late Id finished the rest of the breakfast before they arrived. All in all came to £20. For breakfast. Do your self a favour and go to the greasy spoon over the main road for a much more hearty and genuine meal.

The Best restaurant i've been to in years.

The problem is when you make your order for roast chicken and such you would expect to have roast potatoes and veg's on your plate, However you have to pay extra.

But the food is lovely and the restaurant too. The service is also very good.

Try the trifle.....you will never have another even close to it. Its to die for!!!!!!
