I went to Viktor with my gf last night. We ordered a mixed of sushi, sashimi and maki rolls (along with still water, white wine and green tea ice cream at the end) and all was good and well presented. The service was excellent - it was a quiet Tuesday night, the place wasn’t too busy and that probably helped, but the staff were smiley, prompt and professional. Atmosphere also nice. Reasonably priced, a bit on the expensive side, but a good deal with the special offer.

I went to Viktor last weekend. I love Japanese food and was keen to find another Japanese restuarant to add to my list. Viktor won't be. The restaurant and bar were freezing cold. We asked twice for the heating to be turned up, and the temperature did not improve (I eventually asked for my coat so I could wear it at the table). The atmosphere was drab. The food was average. The bill reflected its location. I won't be going back.

I took my friends there and the service was brilliant. The choice of food was not amazing though and the food was ok - I think I just chose the wrong dish...but it WAS a little too sweet.
The sushis is great though and worth the 50% that I paid!

The food was decidedly average and on the expensive side - even with the special 30% off offer. The service was reasonable. Decor and ambiance was ok. I will return to try their bar, which looks lovely, but unfortunately I will give the food a miss.

Have been to Viktor twice now, and both times i had a truly superb experience. My first time was for a more quiet and intimate meal, whilst the second was a celebration with a group friends - and for both occasions the restaurant was quite ideal.
The food was delightful, elegantly presented with generous portions at the highest quality - a must for those sushi lovers out there who are also willing to try some more original variations on Japanese cuisine. The honey and almond shrimp tempura was spectacular, and this was followed by the special Viktor house rolls which have to be tried!
The service on both occasions was excellent; never too pushy or intrusive, yet always efficient and on call should there be a query or another inevitable order of drinks!
I think one of Viktor's unique qualities which sets it aside from places like Nobu, not only is tghe quality of the food, but is its level of intimacy - you never feel like you are just another one of the crowd. One of my personal favourite aspects to the restaurant is the wonderfully decorated cocktail bar downstairs, which is perfect for a pre-dinner aperitif, or some after dinner cocktails!
A great place, and would always happily return again and again.

Fantastic "new-style" Japanese food, satisfactory service.
If you are bored of going to Nobu the whole time, you should definitely put Viktor on your list. While the atmosphere is surely inferior to Nobu, the food, i would say, is much better. There is a good variety of dishes that are well-presented and taste phenomenal.
A must-visit for any Japanese food lover.

The food was amazing, we enjoyed immaculately presented sashimi starter - the yellow tail was to die for. I enjoyed a tempura main course, again no copmlaints, whilst my companions enjoyed beef, fish and lamb dishes, all of which were raved about in the aftermath!
It was a rather sober occassion so no review on the drinks menu, sorry!
My only complaint would be that the staff seemed unhappy to assist when we wanted to change from a set menu to a la carte immediately after placing our initial order, which to me seemed unecessary given that we ended up spending a lot more!
Well worth a visit for Japanese lovers.

The reason I decided to try Viktor was because of the great reviews it received on this site – and the 50% discount was also appealing.
Although the appetizers were decent, I was highly disappointed I’m afraid. The Salmon Shitake Shirataki was ridiculously salty – all the salty flavours had soaked right into the mushrooms and the salmon was left bland (but pretty). There was also deep fried seaweed surrounding the dish – or it could have been the cabbage trick – but the point is, it was over cooked and uneasy to eat. Gindara (black cod dish) was somewhat bland! Having said that, the black cod was well prepared in terms of texture. Finally I asked if the Tempura Ice Cream is fried ice cream. I was told it was. Firstly, they only had vanilla as an option for the Tempura Ice Cream (must have a green tea option in a Japanese restaurant!), secondly, the ice cream ball was not coated in tempura ice cream batter – it was a cake mixture of some sort and finally, I don’t think the ice cream ball was fried?! At almost £8.00 for a ball, that was quite a scam. I have yet to find the real deal fried ice cream in London – if anyone knows where I can sample some – let me know!
The lack of Japanese people in staff and diners is a small sign itself. The service was top notch though. However I will not be going back and I would not recommend anyone to make a rush for the 50% discount even though it does expire in a couple of days.

Came on a Saturday night and was quite dissapointed. First of all the chef ran out of tempura, which is a bit strange for a saturday night. Also by the time I was finishing my main course my freind was only getting his starter. Even although he had ordered the same food as me. The atmosphere is not so good. The seats are uncomfortable. The only thing which was satisfactory was the food.

Dined at Viktor's recently on the deal from london-eating. Although I was apprehensive at first as we were the only diners there (Ok, it was Wednesday night) it soon proved unneccessary. Sushi was fantastic (BIG pieces of fish, we even had second helpings!) and the ademaki tofu was superbly prepared. The softshell crab hand roll was generous and very tasty. Service was of a good standard too, so all in all, a fantastic meal.Would definitely return.
