I haven't been to Benihana for a long since I moved, but they still got it!

our chef threw a piece of prawn at me to catch (well I missed...), service nice and efficient drinks are a bit on pricy side but liked the Sake tasting menu.

brought my friend for a first time and was very impressed (think he'll become a good regular here even without me).

really wish Benihana was in my town so that I can go more often...

Very large restaurant, meaning a lot of people and a lot of noise. Our waitress didn't understand my order, even after pointing it out on the menu, and then still got it wrong. We had to share a table with two other groups of people, and the chef was cooking food for all 8 so the food came in dribs and drabs. The food was good, if pricey, and all the acrobatics are just not necessary unless you are on a bawdy night out with a group of friends. If you are after teppanyaki, and like things a little more civilised or intimate go to Matsuri close by.

This restaurant has great potential but some of the chefs and waiters let it down. Our table's waiter and chef were both of eastern european origin and were really quite miserable. This was a real shame as the other tables who had Japanese chefs seemed to be having a lot more fun! We tried to make small talk with both our waiter and chef, asking where they were from etc (as Brits do!) and we were more or less told to mind our own business. The chef was really quite depressing and put a bit of a downer on the night by insulting one of the girls in our group, saying how much he hated his job and that it was slave labour because he got paid so little, and asking if we were from the home office because we were showing an interest in him!

The food's pretty average, but cooked in an entertaining way which makes up for it being a little on the plain side.
