I used to go to this pub every weekend for 6 years (I used to go out with someone who lived locally).
I must say this is a beautiful lovely small pub with a real Victorian decor with some fresh flower arrangement on the mantelpiece and hand pumped beers - I don't drink beer so cannot tell, but apparently this makes a lot of difference to the taste.
People who gather there are rather posh-ish but very friendly. No shouting trakkies.
A perfect place to go to to have a quiet drink with weekend papers. Miss this place.

the swimmers is a very nice cosy little pub, and on top of all is fairly quiet and quite hidden. The food is nicer than the usual pub food, slightly more up-market; selection is better and amount is good. The seating arrangement however makes the pub tight at some bits n finding room can be a drag, but good in the summer with the outdoor seating arrangement. Nice friendly atmosphere too!
