The food at Gracelands is very good and I like the laidback feeling here. The quiches and massive range of salads are a speciality and are excellent. the quality of ingredients is very high. The cooking is interesting, varied and well executed.
I agree that the waiting staff can be hit and miss - very much aspiring actresses etc. who can be a bit too cool / preoccupied to provide excellent service.
It's a families cafe, so expect children being raucous, many prams and slightly bombed out, media-work-from-home mums.
The coffee isn't bad but lattes are served in pretty small glasses and aren't great value.
Can be nice for brekkie or brunch, however it is CRUCIAL to ask on ordering that no CHOPPED HERBS (?????) be put on your full English / bacon and egg sandwich etc (why would anyone do this? It's so odd as the chef have a deft touch with everything else, but then wants to put chopped herbs on my hot damn breakfast...).
It's not cheap, but not bad value either.
