We found this place by accident when looking for some where to eat for my birthday in Victoria... and i would like to say .. what a wonderful place. we will defo be going there again.. great food, great staff who had a smile and a chat with you nothing was too much trouble. the place was clean and welcoming and i cant believe we missed this place the last few time we visited London. this is a mistake we wont be repeating... we enjoyed a visit here so much we even tip them and we never do this anywhere. price wise i would say is relatively average for London restaurants well worth the visit if your ever in Victoria.

Don't be fooled by their publicity. "Inspired by the famed Australian restaurant owner and chef" translates into just five dishes on the menu that are supposed to emanate from Bill Granger = the well-known Aussie chef. One of them is scrambled eggs and smoked salmon - something I knock up on a Sunday morning without any advice from an international chef. But - hey - our experience indicates that this place needs all the help and guidence they can get. .
It took them nearly 30 minutes to discover that they didn't have the wine we ordered from an over-priced list - so we were almost through the first course before they even showed us the bottle. My steak was incinerated. Their second attempt at medium-rare was somewhat better but didn't arrive until after my partner had finished eating her main course. They then delivered the wrong dessert and managed to get the bill wrong.
But - of course - we did get the manager's profuse apologies. Not.
With just two other tables occupied, he was far too busy, sat in the window chatting to two of his staff. Our embarassed waitress offered us two "small glasses of wine on the house" (which we didn't really want) . .But that really didn't make-up for poor service, poor food and an over-priced experience which we will not repeat..

Had dinner with my girlfriend at bbar for the first time at bbar. Must say the food, cocktails and wine were all amazing ! The atmosphere was perfect with low light, loungy tunes and candles on all the tables. Not sure who the mixologist is at bbar but he knows his flavours. The bartenders knew exactly how to make all the cocktails to perfection and we had some of the most flavoursome food in London. If this place is a snapshot of what South Africa has to offer then I think I need to go there for a Holiday.
Would highly recommend bbar & restaurant, whether you are in the mood for drinks or the perfect meal. Well done guys, I'll be back and be spreading the good news !

Had a table booked for yesterday evening (18.12.2009).
Initially the service was good until Prince Harry arrived!!! we were asked not to stare and found this request made to a group of government professionals out for a enjoyable night out disgusting! We had a table reserved and believe we deserved just as much respect as anyone else, because we work HARD.
At the end of our meal one of my friends was taking a photo and this was rudely interrupted by a member of the Prince Harry group who accused her of taking photos of him, which ruined his evening!!!
This truly RUINED our evening and i will do all it takes to let the world know that such behaviour is not acceptable, by no means, regardless of who you are and who you are with!!!!!
The staff of Bbar became rude!!!!! This is 2009, nearly 2010.......it's a great shame that such behaviour has to carry on in this day and age!!!!!

I held a party for 40 people at Bbar and I honestly could not fault it. Nor could my boss which makes a nice change! The food was fantastic, i've never had a nicer dessert - Raspberry Brûlée - wow!
The service was extremely professional, all the staff were helpful and courteous and in no way intrusive. The Manager was fantastic, even down to calming me down when I had a hissy fit about the tables - resolved within minutes thanks to their ideas and experience.
I would recommend Bbar without hesitation.

Even though BBar is a nice place to have a drink after work I certainly will not be eating there again and the two friends who came with me feel exactly the same.
I went to BBar a year ago and the food was terribly then. I have since been back many times for drinks but only ate there again once. Terrible experience with the food and all three of us had to send our dishes back TWICE!!! Ending up with us not eating at all.
The spaghetti was obviously undercooked which made us concerned about the prawns. The fish which should come with a lovely crispy batter was soggy along with the chips. The Tuna steak was overcooked and chewy and the noodles were terrible. The Aussie Burger was again overcooked - in fact burnt, dried up and cold. The Ostrich steak was badly cooked and fatty.
Not a pleasant experience
