Where eat in Brick Lane? Well this is an excellent choice if you are unsure.
It is very clean, food was excellent and fresh. The staff were young and very charming. It has upstairs and was busy at 6.00pm which is a good sign.

We went there on a Saturday night (13 Jan). We only decided to dine there as they were offering a 30% discount...there was absolutely no other reason! At first, I thought it would be a decent place as it had a relatively good crowd. However, I was soon disappointed by the starters`...they were absolutely awful! And I mean AWFUL. I ordered a 'mixed kebab' in the starters and was shocked to be presented with a saucer with half a seekh kebab, a very small piece of chicken, an even tinier lamb piece and with a forest of salad! I must say that this saucer was even smaller than the one I use at home with my tea! The salad dominated the space in the plate! Much to my disappointment, my friend got only 3 small cubes of paneer for his 'paneer tikka' starter. My brother's Aloo chat had a better portion but it was not the best thing to have. My God...how bad can a restaurant get? How do you get three bad starters at once? Moving swiftly on. To add to my misery, the waiter did not want to hear me out and infact refused to take responsibility for the small portions! What a rude waiter...he had no bloody respect for me...we were paying for the food...it's not like we were doing them a favour by eating there!... At that moment, I was ANGRY. I expected the mains to be even worse but atleast they gave us good quantities. HA HA...WHAT A RELIEF! Anyway...the naans we ordered looked like the Tesco Value one's...no kidding. Once we had finished eating our mains, they offered us the Deserts menu. I did not want to see it but I could not wait to see them make a mockery of themselves. The pictures they used were the one's you find on Google Images! I swear...they looked like the state-of-the-art, picturesque images you would want to see. But I knew that this was all a bloody hoax. I never even attempted to order any more stuff from there and left as soon as I could. But NO...the waiter took ages to bring the bill. As a result, I refused to offer him a gratuity and walked out immediately. All you people out there...believe you me...DO NOT attempt to go there. You will be disappointed...and very badly. Infact never even go to any brick lane restaurant. They are all rubbish!

Food ok, service ok, prices ok - generally unremarkable, except for the gang of drunk asian youths who tried to throw a fellow diner through the plate glass window as we left. Not the first time I've seen this either. Forget what you've read about teetotal Muslims - there are prowling gangs of asian drunks on Brick Lane on Friday nights that make it completely unsuitable to take a family. Avoid at all costs.

We went there for a works night out. We did book but on the door they were offering 25% discount which we would not be entitled to if we booked!? The service was OK - I think they were more interested in getting new people in than looking after us. A couple of things we ordered didn't show up but they got them promptley for us. Overall good food and good value - worked out about £12.00 a head.

Went on a saturday afternoon for late lunch. I can understand that it was off peak lunch hours, but the service was immensely slow. We finally managed to get a waiter to take our order after 30 minutes and asking many different staff 3 or 4 times. They just kept saying 'in a sec' and walking off to do nothing in particular. The food took another 45 minutes to arrive, which ranged from above average to just so-so. It wasn't an awful experience, but the waiting around was definitely unpleasant. If they had tighter service, I probably would have been quite happy with the meal overall, but we really had to bug them to get any service.

Ate at the Monsoon on 07/04 (Friday), party of 6…., well where to start, service was overbearing to say the least, quizzed several time are we ready, slight believe they wanted to get another cover in before closing. Atmosphere was noisy and pretty fanatic, but like the waiters. Food was distinctly average, although one of the group had the Jalfrezi, and would highly recommend that dish. Alas last time I organise a curry down brick lane.

Excellent food, service and value for money. A group of 30 of us walked in at 11pm on a busy Saturday night, with no prior notice, to my amazment we were given a private room, entertainment from the great waiters. It was a beautiful night. Highly recommended. I will definately make this one of the top 5 restaurants I have dined in.

Party of 6 last night. Excellent food and as important, given the bad press some restaurants get in Brick Lane, really great service. Agreed by the 3 of us that have eaten in othe Brick Lane eateries, Monsoon goes to the top of the list (so far). We didn't order from the menu, just asked for a feast for 6 that had the dishes they were most proud of. Came to £30 a head, with lashings of Cobra included.
