I'd highly recommend you guys to go to Awana. I went there yesterday to celebrate my birthday. Before choosing an eating place, I did some research and would like to surprise all my friends, so I tried to find special place with different ambience and great food, finally I choose Awana.
All friends feedback to me, the food is fantastic. Besides that, the decoration plus the serving and friendly staff have made my special day a memorable.
We ordered around 23 variety of foods for 11 of us, though the serving was not really big. All my friends love it so much and I'm very sure they'll go to Awana again. They were very surprised and have asked me where I find this kind of places...By the way, Thanks alot to "YAN" and a friendly manager with spectacles. Thanks alotz...Fantastic Food !

We went to Awana last night at short notice, based on the feedback on this site.
This is a really nice restaurant in terms of atmosphere, service and decor, and we had some yummy (and well priced) cocktails at the bar before our table was ready. The place was pretty busy for 8:30pm Sunday.
The staff were friendly and helpful. However, there were 4 of us, so we ordered 4 dishes, entrees and rice - and then found we had to order 2 more dishes because we were all still hungry. The food was fine, not spectacular, and the servings were a bit small. Not really worth the price, unfortunately.
The Roti jala dessert was great.

We highly recommend Awana . We went there for lunch on Mother's Day and had a wonderfully memorable afternoon.
Firstly the parking on the streets was no problem at all and free on Sundays on the normal pay parking bays.We had a very short walk to Awana and were greeted by a cheery welcoming smile
and a '' HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY '' aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh !!!
We were surrounded by warm smiles from the staff as we were led to our table. After ensuring we were comfortable, our waitress came with the extensive menu for lunch and for drinks. Infact , we didnt know what to order so Janise , one of the staff, did the job for us and ordered a delicious selection of starters and main courses. We both had smooth sweet mango juices as did our son but dear daughter wanted tap water and had NO problem getting it . The table next to us asked us what we were drinking as it looked so good .
We walked over to the Roti Canai man who was flipping the bread dough expertly and watched him prepare the Roti Canai . We had a chat with him and he remembered us from our last visit !! We then watched him grill the satay and fry the breads..
The next hour only had oohhs and aaahhs and yummys and 'SO goood' coming from our table. Absolutely delicious food . Every item of food was explained to us and there was a comfortable break in between courses.
Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and each dish had an individuality of it's own . No taste overlapped or clashed and every morsel was aaaahhhhhhh so good.
An order of icecream / sorbets comes with three scoops and we opted for different flavours . Hence the four of us had a try of Mangosteen , cinnamon, guava, chilli !! , durian ( yum ) lemon , you get the gist !! We got to try it all!!
There were so many families in the restaurant and both adults and children appeared to be enjoying the food.
As it was Mothers' day , I was presented with a surprise gift from the staff. Lovely gesture, Everybody should try Awana if they can.
A Truly Malaysian Experience !!

i had been recommended to try this restaurant and was sadly disappointed. I took my daughter and we had vegetarian food. For the prices we paid we could have had far better quality and half the price at any of our local thai/malaysian restaurants in camden/islington. There was very little flavour and seemingly no use of chilli or garlic. very bland food at extortionate prices justified only by the location. I truly have had better curries in malaysia and locally. nothing special about this place at all.The service was poor and we had to send one dish back as they forgot to add the tofu! very gracious about it but i don't expect this in a prime location. Will not be returning.

while was in london, was suggested i try this classy dining place. well i'm glad i did. the udang harimau suggested was just simply delicious with all the right spices. i'm not much of a durian eater but when i tried the durian ice cream, it was divine! the service was good as well as they even went out of their way to hail me a cab after.

I'm Malaysian and I find the food served at Awana to be very authentic and delicious. The items on the A La Carte menu are typical of what you would find throughout Malaysia. I highly recommend The roti canai its a very good deal and is absolutely delicious. And, nothing follows up the roti better than bowl of Laksa, makes me feel like I'm back in the streets of KL. However, what really keeps me coming back is the uniquie Satay bar offered at Awana, I have not found anything like it anywhere else!!!

In my search I have found that Awana is the best Malaysian food on the globe, barnone. The service and food are always excellent and the atmosphere is very friendly and inviting. In honor of Mr Ken (the most entertaining waiter in London) I'm going to write my review!
First of all, the place is modern and classy with wooden floor and soft lights. The crowd is on his 30's and quite elegant but not too formal. Exactly the kind of restaurant I prefer! The service is good, not too fast and not too slow and, most important thing, very kind! I must dedicate few words to Mr Ken: he has been really nice with me and my dinner companions, talking and joking with us he made the dinner a really pleasant experience!
The food is a good and tasty malaysian cuisine (I can't remember exactly what I ate but I remember It was really good!)
Summarizing, a very good restaurant where I surely come back when I'll be in London again!

I have been to many good restaurants in London but Awana remains my favorite. It is by far the best Malaysian restaurant that I have been to in London. Whether you want to celebrate a birthday of your friend or simply a romantic dinner with your significant other or just a night out with your friends; Awana is the best place to go.
I have been to Awana numerous times and whoever came with me still ask me about the restaurant and when we can go again. The food is excellent and very well presented. If it is your first time to Awana, I will recommend the sample menu because then you get to taste so many great dishes and each course is really the perfect portion. The service is really outstanding and the waiters really go out of their way to satisfy the customers and Mr. Ken is simply wonderful, I have to say that every time I go there, he always make sure that my friends and I have the best time. The atmosphere is great and the décor is nice and trendy. In short, Awana fills all the requirement of a great restaurant plus it is has a great location.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates good food, service and atmosphere. Try it and believe you will be simply going back for more….
I will be going back soon and thank you Mr. Ken for always looking after me and my friends.

The reason we went to Awana is the positive feedback from Micheal Winner.
I was not dissapointed at all.
Starter- The corn fed chicken and pomelo salad was delicious.
Main Course- Beef Rendang and Morning Glory was tasty and beautiful presented.
Dessert- Roti ,OMG I had orgasm having this sweet bread.
In short the food was delicious, service was attentive and helpful waiteress and cosey deco.
I will be back real soon.
