This is the best Indian restaurant I have been to. The usual favorites are available but there are so many unique dishes that are absolutely delicious! I find myself eating more even though my stomach is desperately trying to tell me there isn't any more room! Always such a good welcome, the staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. To top it all the prices are extremely reasonable. Recommend it to anyone!

This is definately the best Indian restaurant I have been to. The ingredients used are fresh. The dishes are varied and interesting and believe me, I have now sampled most of them and have never been disappointed...I think my favourite is Shelz King Prawn. The portions are generous...so much so, I hardly ever have room for dessert.
The decor has a light and airy feel, to your usual, local curry house and the staff are always so friendly.
In fact we love the place so much, my husband celebrated his birthday there and invited about 40 people. Amin (the manager) arranged a delicious buffet. All the guests have been there again since.
Amin also regularly organises fun evenings, such as Elvis nights and Bollywood nights and has also held some charity do's.
My advice is to find out if you like it, for yourself...

Being of Indian origin i am often disappointed with Indian eats in london but what a pleasant surprise Shelz was last night. Food and service were fantastic and with the £9.95 eat all you like offer it was a good deal, with the wine added our bill came to £18 a head which was amazing value for money. attentive staff. great ambience. Perfect blend of flavours without overpowering spices, light and crispy naan. Definitely recommend and will revisit again soon to sample the other dishes.

Not impressed. I think the food is great but the service is so poor it lets them down. What a shame. Please train your staff about common sense!

We visited Shelz on Xmas Eve after reading previous reviews on London eating and had the festive menu- we were very impressed with the food which was innovative yet did not lose the authentic Indian Taste. Despite some reservations about comments about the service, we found the experience overall excellent. The service we received was very good and the wine list was also comprehensive. We intend to visit again in the near future.

I am juat checking the phone number for Shelz and was struck by the reviewers comment, The food on a recent visit was tasty and well presented and couldn't be faulted but when I tried t o order a drink from another waiter he smiled and did not return even after my numerous attempts to try and atttract his eye.I am guessing that he couldn't undeerstand English and was too embarrasses to ask someone more senior to help him.Not very useful for a waiter ! We are still going back again as the food was so good-lat's hope the waiting staff have changed.

My husband and I came across this restaurant about a year ago after reading the reviews on this site. The first time we visited, we were so happy with the food, service and the atmosphere. The food is different, tasty and somewhat untraditional yet superb. We are indian ourselves and so felt that we could judge the food as we are fortunate to experience the real, traditoinal cuisine almost daily.
We returned to the restaurant a number of times - and were never disappointed - I even introduced it to a few friends of mine. However, my husband I and I returned last week and unfortunately - were very, very disappointed. The staff were somehat new, young and had no idea of how to serve customers, take orders or requests and we overall felt that the good success that this restaurant had, maybe had gone to their heads. We had to ask someone to come over to take out order - after about 15-20 minutes of waiting and obviously looking ready to order. There were 3 waiters leaning against walls, day dreaming, or just simply standing there staring at us. The staff (all but one - the manager - Amin) all seem to be fussing, panicking, and kind of 'panting' around the non-asian guests - as though their custom was a million times more valuable than our regular vists. At the end of our meal, we were not even asked if we wanted a drink on the house (as they always do offer all of the customers) and were just left to pay our bill and then disappointedly leave. We were so very upset by this visit - as it's not how we had always experienced - I think the restaurant need to think carefully abut training their new staff about service, manners, and simple common sense. Consistency is not a strong point. We won't be back in a hurry. What a shame!

I came across this brilliant restaurant through recommendation from a
friend about a year ago and it was one of the best meals I've ever had.
Since then i have been to Shelz several times with family and friends,
which is a good indication of how highly I rate it now. on my last
visit we had a scallop and crab cake appetizer, lamb curry, Lobster &
prawn masala, a side of curried julienned vegetables, along with plain
and garlic naan which was all beatifully cooked and presented as usual.
Every single thing was absolutely delicious, most especially the
vegetables and the Lobster curry.
We did not have dessert once again, as the dishes are suprisingly
filling. It's not your classic Indian food, but more fusion-type
stuff...or maybe it is classic Indian, and I don't know the
diffeerence. Either way, as I mentioned, absolutely superb, I can't
speak highly enough about the taste of the food. Very nice relaxed
atmosphere and the service is just right: attentive without being
intrusive and the prices are very reasonable as well. I would most
definately recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a
fast effective service and gorgeous food.
