Great Value for money, we booked and got 50% off the set menu price, so came in at £90 for 9 people including service. Highly recommended. Food was good and service was friendly and accomodating.

Booked a table at the half empty sugar reef on Saturday night. The service was ok but the food was terrible, with meats dishes either under or over cooked. Desserts were tastless, and even the cocktails we ordered were badly made. The highlight of our night came from making words and images in our left over puddings. I wrote p@0, my friend wrote sh@t, whilst my other friend was slightly more expressive drawing a full on c@ck and b@ll@cks.

Please don't go to this tourist trap, and would someone call Gordon Ramsey asap.....

We had a pre-theatre dinner as part of a reasonably priced package with Lastminute.com. There was a nice choice of food, all of which was well-cooked, well presented and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were all friendly, efficient and very cheerful. Extras such as salads and drinks were reasonably priced - a happy hour runs from 5.30-7.00 and there is a good selection of reductions on drink prices. The service was quick but we didn't feel rushed. Good value, and we would happily recommend it, right in the heart of theatre land, 1 minute from Picadilly Circus.

Sugar Reef cancelled our booking for 11 people with less than 48 hours' notice when it had confirmed the booking three weeks earlier. The idiot girl on the phone said sor-ree in that sing-song way that translates as, 'I couldn't give a toss.' Wretched customer service. Would NEVER recommend.

I went to the sugar Reef on a Monday with some friends and we were all very impressed by the mutiple choices on the menu, including healthy options.

I had a 50% offer but even if I had paid the full price I still would not complain as the food was exellent (I had mussels for starter and salmon for main), my friends were happy with the quality of their courses too. I also liked the decor and atmosphere of the place. I definitely would go back.

I went to eat at Sugar Reef with five friends last night. We booked the table using the 50% off deal and we were delighted to find that it was 50% off the set menu price, which on a Tueday was £15 for 3 courses - a bargain at £7.50! We had a range of dishes, all of which were very good. The menu was varied and we all had trouble choosing what to eat.

We found the waiters to be very friendly and helpful, the food arrived promptly and the decor and atmosphere were both good too. The wine and cocktails list was fairly extensive and the location is very central and easy to find.

Overall, although this isn't the most sophisticated restaurant, we had no complaints and would definitely come again.

Good value mon-wed and bad value in weekends.

it maybe exaggeration but that's how I felt.. I went there twice this week-on monday and saturday.

on monday, it was very satisfying.I used the 50%offer and had very nice muessel and main dish. even after a glass of wine, it was only 10 pound.

On saturday i went there again. this time i booked it with lastminute.com combined with a musical ticket. this time they presented a special menu for last minute.com. which was very limited menu compared to what I got on monday.

it was ok but not as great as I had on monday and the service was terrible and the music was too loud.

for the normal price, i woulnd't really go there.. but for 50% off offer, I definitely recommend..but you should be patient with the unattentive waiting staffs.

Organised my engagement party at Sugar Reef for a Saturday night with a guest list of just under 70 people. No problems with the guest list and was the list was confirmed by email. Reserved the Marx Lounge by a small deposit which was then put against food throughout the night. Door/bar staff and management were very polite and professional and service was very quick! Ordered several large platters at very reasonable prices and they came very quick! Was generally impressed with the whole Sugar Reef experience and would strongly recommend this venue for anyone planning to hold a party for a larger group.

We ate at Sugar Reef yesterday as part of a LastMinute.com dinner/theatre package. The offered menu was limited to three choices for starter/main course as expected. However, the menu also included three choices for dessert - after finishing our mains, I did ask to see the dessert choice again and was given the full menu. When I mentioned we were on a LastMinute deal, the menu was then replaced with the LastMinute cut-down version. We chose, we ate and only then were we told that dessert was extra.

When I checked the LastMinute website back at home, the deal did mention two course menu - the LastMinute e-mail does not say that! Our server obviously knew that the dessert would be an extra charge but omitted to mention it and was only forthcoming when (apologetically) presenting the bill.

It was obvious she knew what she was doing and thus introduced the only sour note into an otherwise enjoyable and value-for-money evening.

Be warned - check the small print and check what you are paying for ... the serving staff clearly know what they're doing at this establishment.
