Went here on evening of 25th June 2008 5.30 for pre-theatre meal £9.99 for two courses. We all really enjoyed the meal - we were well attended by friendly staff. Would definitely return.

Fantastic night out and at low cost.

I booked a party of six in for a meal on Wednesday night. We were astonished by the place. The layout was spectacular, the service was fantastic. We even got extra dessert.

Excellent value for money as they run deals from the set menu. Can't fault the food, service or the restaurant. Looking forward to trying out some of the other nights. Thursday have live Jazz.

Nice atmosphere, food quite good, we had nearly everything on the menu as we were a large group. Service was appaling though. We had to argue with the waiter as he refused to bring as tap water even though we ordered wine as well so weren't trying to be cheap. The waiters were rude and clumsy as one spilled wine on one of our group and another asked that we collect the plates he couldn't reach!!! To top it all of, it took as 20 mins to pay because the waiter was going back and forth with the chip and pin machine as he couldn't print a receipt at the table.

My wife and I were celebrating my birthday, we had booked into our favourite hotel, gone to see a great show, STOMP, and wanted to round it off with a nice meal at a restaurant we had enjoyed before, the SUGAR REEF. What a terrible let down, the service was terrible, the menu decimated by items not being available, the cacophony of sound coming from the night club below was unbearable, the food when it arrived was awful, a total let down, completely ruining the day. The worst howevever was a private function being held adjacent to the main restaurant, who knows what the entertainment was but the screaming and shouting certainly added to my wife's and my discomfort. The staff however appeared to enjoy it immensely as they completely ignored those customers who remained. From what was once a very enjoyable venue has, unfortunately, become less so. We will never go there again and I will not recommend it to my friends. What a shame!

Really sorry to say this, but the whole evening was a nightmare!

I have used Sugar Reef on many occasions over various xmas periods & on this particular evening, it was a shambles!

It took place on the evening of December 7th 2007.

We were sat at the end of a table where other guests were sitting next to us, (Felt pretty much like a school dinner), where in the past we would have had our own table?

The main course was served without the promised seasonal vegetables & new potatoes that was clearly printed on the info sheet. When I asked the waiter about this, he told me this didn’t apply to our set menu! At this point, I produced the paperwork that proved him wrong! I was eventually offered £5 off the meal?....Wow!

At the end of the meal we were given a bill for the sum of £353.00. Slightly confused with this total I read through the details & realised we were being over charged!!!

a. Charged for 3 Jack Daniels & coke! that we didn't have!

b. Charged for 6 people whereas there were only 5!

c. Charged an extra £90 that was already paid as a deposit!

I was over charged over £150!!! Which I find absolutely incredible!!!

I am not one to normally question a bill, but I am glad I had!

To top it all off, one of our party members had red wine spilt all over him from a clumsy barman who we noticed had dropped half empty glasses on more than one occasion.

Really hope Sugar Reef can learn from these mistakes as it is normally a good venue.

Twelve of us went there for our Chistmas party on friday 1st December.

As soon as we arrived they knew exactly who we were, introduced us to our personal waiter and were highly efficient. Our personal waiter was really nice and great fun. Also venue is great fun, well decorated, with lots of trendy young people. The food is mid priced, very well presented with nice recipes, tasty and we could not have expected more for what they charge.

The disco after is good and if you are looking for a trendy, lively evening out with good food then this is a good recommendation. There was a ten minute wait for coats when I left at 11pm, however if it was not for that then this place would get 10/10

We reserved for a table of 7, but due to i'll health one of our party could not attend, despite being told early on Friday they we're not able to co-ordinate with their kitchen and insisted on bringing a 7th serving to the already cluttered table with a chair at the end of the table for our absent friend. Just as well she couldn't make it.

The restaurant was very crowded to the extent that they must have a health and safety issue.

The upstairs mens toilets only had only one cubicle and one of the urinals was under repair so only two available and the stench was foul.

The food was ok and would have got a better rating if it wasn't for the fact that it was cold having been left on the bar counter whilst they, the waiting staff decided who and how they would clear up the bottle of wine they knocked over one of the ladies at the table.

When the bill arrived they had managed to charge for the absent guest as well as the wine they spilt although they did not make a service charge are requested but still a cute try!

On to the dance floor down stairs way too crowded (i may be old, but even the younger members of the group thought it was too crowded)

Toilets also very smelly

The final straw, a long cue up the steps to the cloak room poor organisation items handed in together seperated and only found once the owner insisted on going into the cloak room to look for herself.

From leaving the downstairs bar / club area to collecting coats & bags nearly an hour, too late to rush for a train so taxi's all round.

A truly dissapointing Christmas do in Londinum never again at Sugar Reef !

Great Value for money, we booked and got 50% off the set menu price, so came in at £90 for 9 people including service. Highly recommended. Food was good and service was friendly and accomodating.

Booked a table at the half empty sugar reef on Saturday night. The service was ok but the food was terrible, with meats dishes either under or over cooked. Desserts were tastless, and even the cocktails we ordered were badly made. The highlight of our night came from making words and images in our left over puddings. I wrote p@0, my friend wrote sh@t, whilst my other friend was slightly more expressive drawing a full on c@ck and b@ll@cks.

Please don't go to this tourist trap, and would someone call Gordon Ramsey asap.....
