We've been going to GKii since it opened, and have always been thrilled by the imaginativeness and quality of the chef's take on North Indian cuisine. Such an improvement on the standard 'Indian' food available at most of London's Bengali restaurants!

It was closed for a long time last year for refurbishment after being taken over by the Connoisseur Group, so when it re-opened we went back with a certain amount of trepidation. We needn't have worried - the quality and variety of the food remains just as good as before. We've been working our way steadily through the menu ever since, and we've yet to eat anything which wasn't perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and reasonably priced.

Only one criticism - the standard of training of some of the staff leaves something to be desired, and the standard of their English is also variable. That said, the staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Even if you think you know Indian cuisine, make the trip to GKii to find out what real Indian fine dining can be like - it's well worth it!

If you want to have a good evening, then stay away, The food doesn't taste fresh and the service is slow. It's not worth the effort.
