La Forchetta Pizzeria & Restaurant

Just a few things to say about this place..... GREAT FOOD, GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY and VERY FRIENDLY STAFF. Ive been to almost every restaurant in Upper Street and i can honestly say this a great place to go to.

I have eaten in many restaurants but never have I experienced service quite as bad as that in La Forchetta. My girlfriend and I honestly thought Jeremy Beadle was going to appear to tell us it was all a joke. The waiters there will ignore you when you ask for something, bring you the wrong food and are generally rude. To cap things off, the card machines would not accept either of 2 credit cards I tried to pay with (no tip I can assure you!) and then would not read my girlfriend's card. Any normal person would conclude that perhaps the card terminals were malfunctioning. But no the manager came out and said we were trying to rip him off! This place is dire and the food wasn't up to much either!

Great pizza. Seriously, the pizza was really good. However, I'm pretty sure the sauce for my pasta came from the Tesco accross the street. The prices were quite reasonable, so overall I was happy.

I am normally not too keen on waiters pulling punters off the street, but S.B. and I were looking for a nice place to eat pasta on Upper Street and the £4.90 for any pizza or pasta dish offer sounded great so we went in.

The restaurant is not very big, but a nice size and the staff are friendly. It was fairly quiet when we got there but it soon filled up and by the time we left there were people waiting for tables.

We both had a pizza with spicy chicken, which was lovely and crisp. The bill came to about 25 quid for the both of us but that was mainly because of the wine. I'm not often in the mood for pizza or pasta but I would definitely go again.

I recommend arriving early or booking ahead if you are planning to go with more than 3-4 people as the space is small and tables fill up quickly.
