Came a cropper when I thought the offer was for lunchtime but turned out it was not. Two courses, drink each and £60 so not too silly.
Disappointed with the waiter's reaction when I clearly thought there was an offer. He simply and curtly dismissed without sugaring the pill.
Service was no more than adequate - the staff were clearly flustered and rushed but not inefficient.
The razor clams starter was over-seasoned for such a subtle meat. The samphire was a surprise and unfortunate addition to the plate since it was not in menu description and it was rather stringy. The risotto main was plentiful and perfectly cooked and presented.
My dining partner devoured his burger with relish (in both senses) and is a regular. He rates the venue so I was probably being over-critical and unlucky.
The dining area with the opening onto the pavement is sophisticated without pretention. On a warm early autumn evening the vista onto the verdant square was virtually Parisian. Shame the food and service did not quite match.

Went here on Saturday night as it is close to home and they have a 50% off food offer and a free cocktail.
The place is modern and light with the bar behind overlooking the main restaurant.
The menu was very straightforward, almost a little boring but then this is a hotel restaurant. Starters of wild boar Scotch egg and shell on prawns with lemon mayo were both good, as was the Ling main course. I had a Rib eye for main which was very tasty but a little more medium than the rare I wanted, and a little on the small side. Desserts were fine and the free cocktail was not to bad either.
Service was very friendly but not to proffesional, a few things were forgotten and they did not charge me for my wine until I told them.
Overall good food at a decent price ( with the 50%, a little high without).

Great food and service, modern designer setting. Definitely worth it with the 50% offer.
We went for a romantic meal for 2. The staff were friendly and attentive, although not overly so. Food was great, and wonderfully presented. With the 3 courses, 2 cocktails each (one free as part of the offer) the bill was around £50 which was amazing!
Would really recommend this deal, as you could easily pay that much in many places that are leagues below here.
