An amazing restaurant. The food was plentiful and good value.

The steak was one of the best I have ever eaten, and I have never seen a cheese board like it (they bring out a massive board of about 25 different cheeses and you select which you want).

The atmosphere is friendly and not snooty, plus there is outside space.

I will keep this short and sweet. This is my favourite restaurant in London. I have been going there since it opened and haven’t been going there nearly enough recently. Its fantastic at lunch with kids, intimate in the evening, but can go there with a large group and have great fun. The wine list caters from barrel to 2nd Growths....but it’s the food delicious every time.

Sorry to gush, but this place is lovely and the most consistent place I have ever been to . Well done Pablo and Stephanie.

When we moved to Balham we discovered this restaurant and it quickly became our favourite. The food is consistently excellent and fairly priced for its quality (mains £12-£18), the service is friendly and the atmosphere homely and welcoming.

We moved away from the area but recently returned and chose this for a special birthday meal. The name has changed but everything else is as good as ever.

I am truly stunned by the review that labelled it "pretentious and overpriced" as it is precisely the opposite and that's why we love it!

We live locally to this restaurant and have been going regularly for about 3 to 4 years. I love the fact that the food is always tasty (we have never been disappointed) and that Stephanie and Pablo are so relaxed. We have always brought our children to lunch and they love the chicken or fish. The decor is simple and rustic. This is not Chez Bruce but it is a thoroughly good meal and in hospitable surroundings. It is definitely worth a visit!

Visited for a birthday celebration, but were disappointed. Yet another pretentious and overpriced Wandsworth Common restaurant catering for the 'rich, famous and well heeled'. Sorry, but we don't all have that amount of money to burn. Meagre portions, especially the main courses. I had seabass which was small enough to put on a table spoon and was overcooked! No extra vegetables or salad. Tasty enough but won't go again - sorry Wandsworth!

This is one of our favourite resturants because the staff are charming, the food is fabulous and it is very good value.

They don't charge for covers, bread, olives or water.

The cheese board is as good as you will find anywhere and the wine list very good

The only drawbacks might be that it is 4m from the busy Trinity Road (although you can park outside) and the decor is a little lacking in style

I would rather go here than Chez Bruce every time

We used to live a few minutes from this gem, when it was known as Mini Mundus. Returning today for a family lunch, we found the decor somewhat updated but everything else about this wonderful restaurant unchanged.

The charming, unassuming couple that runs this place made us feel as welcome as always and the food was as delicious as ever. We both had the scallops (cooked to perfection) and the bavette steak (achingly tasty), while our three-year-old loved the fish fillet, fries and green beans he chose; other members of our party had the guinea fowl and duck, and all agreed the food was superb.

My only slight disappointment was that the Rendezvous was not busier; more than any restaurant I know in London, this is a place that deserves to thrive, both for the consistent excellence of the cooking and the nature of the people who run it. It is also the only place we know where we feel truly comfortable bringing our kids, who are welcomed in a fashion one usually only experiences in Meditteranean climes.

Great food, nice people, relaxed night, great selection of wines with very informed suggestions and a gateau to die for. What more can you want...and AFFORDABLE!

A Rather Unusual Chinaman

A Rather Unusual Chinaman

Friday, March 05, 2010 - My roast venison had a slightly more rustic approach with everything slathered neatly onto my plate. Again, perfectly cooked meat and a really wholesome meal. Even though the presentation appeared more straightforward, the kitchen was still showing some invention with the introduction of the artichoke mash which was pleasant, if a little unusual. The confit leg of duck was also highly commendable. Although not my dish, the three portions ordered by separate members of my family meant that there was ample amounts of duck for me to scavenge. Crisp skin and moist flesh with bags of flavour.
