Before visiting the White Cube Gallery on Hoxton Square, I dropped into Miso to have a nice (perhaps) noodle soup on a rainy day with an out-of-town friend. I ordered soba (which I presumed would be a noodle soup), but got a pretty uninteresting and rather tasteless stir-fried noodle dish drenched in corn starch. I attempted to double-check whether or not this was what I had ordered and received a very harsh response from a manager/waiting staff. Unsimpathetically, she pointed to the number on the menu corresponding to the dish and overzealously insisted that I had received an appropriate dish. I was unable to finish the dish and asked to take it away (not because it was tasty, but rather too overpriced to abandon). The staff seemed bothered to be called and approached my table from their ranks in front of the cashier. They professed that they charge an additional £0.50 for taking food way. When asked why, the manager replied "Because this is my restaurant." I will definitely not return to this place and think it is a shame that the busy traffic in the area will (mis)lead visitors toward Miso.

not an experience to cherish, eating here i'm afraid to report. No charm:all utility.
within the budget range there are a number of distinctive Jpn places of which this doesn't count among them.Hopefully things will get better.

I have eaten here twice, once when it first opened and again recently. On both occasions I was really disappointed with the food, in fact I couldn't even finish my meal on the last visit, it was that bad. Even with 3/4 of my dish remaining the staff weren't particularly bothered why I didn't eat it & I had to tell the staff the meat was inedible. Cheap, tough & chewy beef and the soup was bland and tasteless. Such a shame as it's a really good location and that alone will keep customers coming.

I live and work in Hoxton, and have tried many of the very good restaurants in the area. Miso is relatively new to the area, and I bought a take out from there tonight.
The minimum delivery was £10, so I chose a set meal and paid more than you would normally pay for oriental food in this area.
The food was very disappointing. It was the quality of a cheap chinese take away. I didn't eat all of it. I would definately not eat there again.
