Miso (Hoxton Square)

I'm rather suprised by all the negative reviews. I used to live very close to Miso and ate there several times.

While, yes sometimes the staff seemed a little timid and not the fluent of English speakers - the food always arrived promptly and was quite good. I usually ordered the rice or noodle dishes as I am not a big soup fan, but several friends enjoyed it there too.

I'm not exactly sure what people are looking for, but I find it to be one of the places I would go back to in the Hoxton area without a doubt.

Memory played me down as I went again to this place. Food is terrible, well, the starters were acceptable, but the soups were absolutely dreadful, the meat in them was inedible and the stock was awful. Service was at the same level too, making me wait ages for the dreadful soup and I have to say that they hardly spoke any english, i felt sorry for them actually. And to finish it is way too expensive for the sh%!t quality, i think we payed 35 quid for two.

food is avearge, but my visit there yesterday is my last. I have never been treated so rudely in my life.

Just take away food but cheap and cheerful. Wouldn't want to eat inside the place as the atmosphere looks pretty clinical and dead.

Dim sum was burnt on the bottom, main dish (66) was salty with massive lumps of ginger in it....food aside - atmosphere sterile. Thought we would branch out from usual but it was a mistake....plenty of far superior and cheaper restaurants in surrounding area.

I have just picked up a takeaway from this place and I am sorry to say it was horrible! The 'mixed seafood noodles' contained unrecognisable rubbery lumps which stuck between my teeth and tasted stale. The sauce was overpowering, over- salted and glutinous and like yesterdays' Chinese reheated - except worse. And the gyoza (dumplings) was flaccid and greasy.

Not cheap at almost £10 either - give Miso a miss!

Been there once in Jan 06 for my birthday at lunchtime. Really enjoyed the food. Went there again for a friends birthday in June 06 and the food was as good as I remembered if not better. Nothing wrong with the service. Nice big restaurant. Value for money - big portions!
