I used to live in Stoke Newington and the only Fish and Chips I would eat is Faulkners. I've read a few of the reviews but I can honestly say, I've never had a bad meal there in all the 10 years I've been going.
The previous owners did the most fantastic job, and since its been taken over (for some time now) it is still good. Now of course they do Delivery which is fantastic!! Tried that twice and it arrives fresh and hot.
Only 1 complaint if I had to at a push, the scampi I ordered for delivery was a little over cooked, but I always have the Haddock which was perfect.

I was in Faulkners today and had haddock and chips, I'm a northern lad and know about my fish and chips.
The chips were perfectly cooked and the fish was great too, has to be fresh was very White and cooked to perfection. The price wasn't to bad and the quality and freshness was well worth it.
I got recommended to this chipie through my friend who is also from north, people talk about this chipie everywhere, he was right they are the best in the area, and I believe is famous also.
I have tried other fish shops weren't so good.
FAULKNERS THUMBS UP. 10/10...

I wanted to take my friends from america for some good english fish and chips, so my husband recommended Faulkners on Kingsland road.
so we decided to go one friday.
The atmosphere was nice, with the acqurium with beautiful fish. It was busy with people waiting to get table, but the service was good and fast, which you dont get in many restaurants.
There were four of us, we had a selection of starter like roll mops, humuz, and Kalamari. The service was fast and some fruity dry wine to go with it. For main course my friends from america had cod and haddock, they were very impressed with the quility of the fish, no bones and not greasy.
Me and my husband had grilled fish, we had lemon sole and sea bass, absolutly beautiful couldnt have anything better, im a chips fan, these were to die for!!!. Now Faulkners is my regular place i eat in, this has to be one of the best places for fish and chips. I recommend to try.
