Excellent food, best fish and chips i've ever tasted. Good service and a traditional good looking resturant.

I definitely recommend it if you're a fan of fish and chips. Desserts are great too - try the sticky toffee pudding!

A bit expensive, however you get what you pay for - we left 100% satisified, will be visiting it again this good friday!

I was in the restaurant last night, the service was great, the food was great. It is the first time I have been here in 2 years, and i must admit the food has got better and better, this must be the best fish and chip shop in london.

I will definatly be coming back again, and would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys seafood!!!

I'm assuming this place has changed hands. I used to go all the time when I lived in the area. The catch of the day was always amazing, the atmosphere was lively thanks to the uniformed and friendly staff and the bill was always very reasonable. Last night I found a restaurant that is a shadow of its former self. Unhelpful staff, mostly empty and the food was, frankly, disgusting. Gone is the lovely fresh fish in light batter, replaced by nasty over-fried dry expensive lumps of flesh. Its a shame to see such a great institution die such an undignified death!

I heard about this restaurant through a very good friend, as he told me he used visit very regular in his child hood but stopped as standards dropped about 4-5 years ago. iam sure he said that there was new owners at that point who were turkish. As he explained the service and food quality wasn't the same. He went to Faulkners a while ago, as there is new owners there and was very pleased with the food and service. So i thought why not give it a try, I went with my girl friend for meal, we had starters main course and a bottle of wine, as we had no room for desserts, its amazing as Micheal Watson the boxer was there too, he also agreed that we have never had fish like this, it was the best bit of fish. i was really pleased it is now one of my regulars, thanks to my friend. I would advise everyone to give it a go.

This place used to be THE fish & chip shop with regular queues out of the door. Portions were vast, perfectly cooked and not a spot of grease!

Then, around a year ago, it changed hands and we now avoid it like the plague. It was suddenly empty. We sat at a table and looked at the menu to see that prices had rocketed. We began to give our order but 3 different fish were not available - standard ordinary fish, not exotic unusual fish. The restaurant also smelled of ammonia - far TOO fishy.

We left without taking our order any further.

AVOID.

good quality fish,large portions and great value.only downside your clothes are a bit smelly when you leave.wear something washable.
