Simply not worth the money - poorly trained staff who don't know large sections of the menu, mediocre food (overcooked, far too salty veal, for example), poor service (we had to get up to find a waiter several times during the evening). One wonders how a place like this can survive.

After having breakfast a luciano's for the first and most definitely the last time the only good thing about it was the entertainment value, it was completely farcical and we had to laugh about the whole experience otherwise we would have lost our cool. We choose lucianos after reading a review that this was one of the top ten places in london for breakfast, 10 of us booked for 8:45 and did not leave until 10:45 as the incompetent staff got 5 out of our 10 orders wrong and when finally they did get it right we all had breakfast at different sittings so everything didnt get colder than it already was with the last meal to come up left one person alone eating. We did not get one apology so had to speak to the manager who accepted that we were not going to pay the full bill and certainly not the 12.5 percent service charge, this probabaly had some thing to do with the fact that mr pierre white was in the restaurant himself. The table next to us had exactly the same problems which resulted in the staff having a domestic just 5 meters away from us. All in all a very unpleaseant experience.

Trying to think of something positive to say but have failed. Poor service, dull lighting, small portions and bland food.

Four of us having lunched there today (Saturday), I well understand the venue being almost emty. A real pity as the setting is lovely - nice jazz in the background and very well decorated (if badly designed - stairs to kitchen and toilets are the same). Service was extremely slow and distinctly lacking in charm. It took two hours to have two courses. A very limited Bar Menu only was on offer. We had mediocre consomme and greasy zucchini fritti to start, followed by bland lamb and truly dreadful plaice with chips. The mozarella and tomato salad was acceptable. The spinach was too. And the bill, with two cocktails, two glasses of wine and a bottle of water came to £120. Not an experience we intend to repeat. And a huge disappointment given the reputations of both Marco Pierre White and Rocco Forte.

Don't bother going there.

Horrible service, average food. And it's expensive.

A waste of time and money.

What a joke - another MPW con-trick! Dingy, poorly-lit room, indifferent bored staff food was average-to-poor, and really expensive for basically trattoria grub, not very well served. 2 things added insult to injury - gratuity box left open when 12.5pct already added (how I hate that, along with AA Gill, MPW's buddy...), and the unedifying spectacle of MPW himself laughing and carousing with 4 or 5 mates, all of whom had obviously been reviewing the wine list rather too thoroughly! A dreadful experience....never again.

Well in January of this year I didn't have a good thing to say about this restaurant. However, as it's very local to our office we thought we'd give it a second chance. Things have vastly improved. The last time I booked a business lunch there the general opinion was that it was one of the best meals they'd ever had and the service was excellent. I have also been to the bar a few times and found the staff to be charming, helpful and efficient. The wines reasonably priced and the bar food to be very good. Well done on being one of the few places that listens to what their customers have to say.

There were 10 of us for lunch and so we were seated in the semi-private area at the back of the restaurant. We all ordered from a set menu which had 3 choices per course. Everyone in the group said their meal was "okay"/"eatable". Definitely not more though. I would say that the side vegetables were nice. The worst thing was the service - friendly enough but totally disorganised. Clearly they had no system in place to tell them who ordered what and so they just randomly plonked/offered each dish as it came out to each person around the table until they found its owner. On a table of 10, that's pretty bad. This restaurant is more in the league of the High Street brasserie - defintely not in the £100 per head league, though that's what they charge.

The trouble with celebrity chefs is that like with the grand old painting masters, they often leave it to others to do the work while they make their mint from their efforts.

I went with a business group for a lunch (yesterday). Who should be there but Marco Pierre White himself, smiling and laughing in a corner with friends. The surroundings are impressive and the service competent. Less so was the food. The calve's tongue's dressing was cloying and the halibut with lentils was good as far as it went; the accompanying vegetables were unimaginative with spinach dry and sauté potatoes overdone.

It's another over-priced restaurant where people like to be seen and say they've been there. But at 4pm, White was still there with a big grin on his face, so someone was happy.
