Abysmal evening from beginning to end. We went for our anniversary - never again. The bar area is badly maintained - the mirror behind the bar is filthy. The toilets are grubby. Go here if you are not particular about hygiene. The staff on arrival were disinterested and surly. The food itself was mediocre at best - they seem to be using poor quality ingredients. The bill was ludicrously expensive considering there are so many restaurants in the area which offer so much better.

We went to Luciano's yesterday for my daughter's 18th with some friends. We found the staff friendly and after having some cocktails at the bar headed into the lovely dining area which at night is very atmospheric and pretty. The food was excellent and we all found each course delicious. I would be happy to go again any time.

Absolutely awful - avoid it. Fettucine oily and very salty. Tasted like it had been cooked the day before (and looked it). White wine was warm. Coffee was almost cold and tasteless. Expensive for poor quality.
The premises look the worse for wear, although it has apparently only been open since November 2005 - it looks as though it is in need of renovation already. Cheap supermarket liquid soap in the toilets. The towels in the toilets need to be bleached.
The premises were almost empty which speaks volumes. The waiting and bar staff are lovely though and are the only positive aspect of this place.

Had an excellent evening at Luciano. Arrived early for cocktails (which were fantastic) and then went on to dinner. The bar area was very stylish and the restaurant had nice big tables (as it is typical for a MPW restaurant). The food was delicious, the service slightly erratic, but still good. Of course, the bill was not for the faint-hearted, but to be expected bearing in mind the location and type of restaurant. Highly reccommened.

We visited Luciano's on a Friday night for an 8.30 meal during the after christmas break, very surprised at how quite it was, but had a very enjoyable evening. Food was excellent as was the service, decor starting to look a bit shabby with light bulbs not being replaced when blown, and my partner found the toilets dingy and dirty, it has the look of neglect, albeit at one time it was obviously quite glitsy.
Our overall experience was good, liked the ambience, loved the pictures!! and would probably go back another time.

Very disappointing.
We arrived at 7.45pm for an 8pm reservation . The girl at the reception desk told us she didn't speak English and we had to wait for somebody who could find our name in the reservation book and take our coats.
We then took a seat at the bar. The barmen were busy talking so they took a long time to take our order yet there were no others at the bar. The mirrors behind the bar allow patrons to see the bar area behind the counter and it was dirty and messy.
Once we were directed to our table we had no side plates and had to ask for some (all empty tables around us had). A waiter came round and began topping up our wine glasses with another wine we hadn't ordered. Thus spoiling ours. He wandered off when he realised his mistake without saying a word and put the bottle he was holding in another tables wine cooler.
The mens toilets were dirty, with tissue all over the floor and despite mentioning it twice, to different people, nothing was done all night. There was food on the floor between the downstairs kitchen and the dining area.
Bags handed in to be kept in the cloakroom were left unattended behind the reception desk. I would have kept mine under the table had I realised.
The food was great but the rest left me feeling annoyed at the waste of money.

The whole experience was very poor.
Ordered champagne cocktails as an aperetif. Ordered the same drink again and they made them completely differently.
A lot of the starters and main courses were 'off the menu'. 3 out of the 4 starters were very dissapointing.
The bottle of champagne and the wine we ordered were also not on the menu. So we were recommened much more expensive varieties.
We skipped dessert as we were so disppointed with the whole thing. Two of us ordered coffees and asked if there were any petit fours. We were given what I can only describe as small pieces of soggy bread with lumps of nuts.
This restaurant is expensive and compared to somewhere like Pied a Terre there is just no comparison. My husband asked them to take the service of the bill-they didn't argue.

Not impressed.
Needed somewhere around that area last minute for a dinner for Two. Had read a good review in Time out and on the off chance booked, stupidly without checking it out further. No problem fitting us in.
The starters were ok. Nothing special just ok. My main (seafood spaghetti) was dry, cold and tasteless - I've had better in Strada.
The dinning room was 2/3rd full. However, we were sat in the empty 3rd and squeezed into a corner at that.
However, it was four things that really summed it up:
1) Upon arrival, my dates leather jacket was taken. It was then slung over the bannister at the entrance. We are then led to our table, we presume the jacket would be taken in the cloakroom. As we left (we were two of the last to leave at around 10pm) her jacket was still there in the same place, with no one around.
2) I ordered a bottle of wine. They had to check if they still had that wine in stock. They then produced another wine list and yes it was there, but the price was more.
3) The taking away of the bill and then asking for additional gratuity when paying with card.
4) Just about every member of staff asking if we needed a cab. I would say at least 6 individuals. It go so I started to think so of the waiters were moonlighting as cabbies!
Plus points.
Not many. Service was generally fine. "Interesting" decoration (though not the sort of thing my parents would apprieciate).

Simply not worth the money - poorly trained staff who don't know large sections of the menu, mediocre food (overcooked, far too salty veal, for example), poor service (we had to get up to find a waiter several times during the evening). One wonders how a place like this can survive.
