I really love this Indian restaurant. It's my favourite in Stoke Newington believe it or not. Strictly speaking it's not Indian, but Bangladeshi, which I prefer. I find that the food is flavoursome, with more emphasis on fresh herbs than junkie chilli powder. You can really taste the fresh coriander for example and the side dishes are exemplary. The decor is pleasant, clean, the staff are very friendly and incredibly efficient - going out of their way to cater for you (for example getting me exactly the drink I wanted - when they had run out of lemonade they went off and bought some).

I'm from the midlands orginally and know what a good curry tastes like - and this is it. I tend to have mild chicken balti, pilau rice, dahl, mushroom bhaji and sag aloo when I go. It's exceptionally good value (we never spend more than £40 for two of us including drinks) and quike frankly I can't understand why it's always so quiet!

Time Out haven't reviewed them, but I think Time Out have stopped reviewing Stoke Newington restaurants, which isn't necessarily a bad thing as it's getting very busy these days.
