The Gold Coast Bar & Restaurant

The Gold Coast Restaurant is lively, friendly and welcoming. A bar downstairs serves bar food and has a big screen for watching football games whereas upstairs there is the restaurant serving Traditonal Ghanaian food which really is top drawer. Well done, well seasoned and lovingly cooked food that I would fully recommend. The Chef's special chicken, though not for the faint-hearted, is brilliant as is the fried plantain. Shame it's not in town!

The World In 202 Meals
Wednesday, October 29, 2008 - Luckily, the Ghanaian menu at the Gold Coast Bar and Restaurant was completely worth an epic, rain-drenched Saturday night journey to zone six. Otherwise, I would have been in trouble. The restaurant was my suggestion. I’d found it almost at random—it was the first Google hit for “London Ghanaian restaurant”—and immediately decided we had to go. A self-described Ghanaian gastropub with fried yam balls that get great reviews! Surely that would be worth riding three different trains to some godforsaken south London suburb for?
