Stoshus

We went to this restaurant on a Friday night after reading some good reviews. Upon entering, we realized that we were the only customers, which made us doubt the place. All our fears were unfounded, however. First the decor - pleasant, warm and "orangey". The hosts were very gracious and helpful when we were deciding what to eat. We ordered chicken wings and crispy fried minnows for starters and we both absolutely loved them. Especially the minnows. I also had sorrel wine which was absolutely divine. If, like me, you like fruity wines, then go for it. For the mains, we got the jerk chicken and curry chicken. I loved the curry chicken, while my partner loved the jerk chicken. And I mean really loved it! The bill with all that and another drink came to around 40. There is no doubt we'll be going back again. I only hope that that Friday was the exception as far as the crowd is concerned, and the place manages to stay open. It would be a shame if it were to go away.

Visited this restaurant last night, the ambience was excellent, decor was just right, music was good....only think is that it was practically empty on a saturday night! None the less decided to stay in and dine....( i guess, quicker service!! :p) We orderedstarters of salt fish fritters and barbeque wings, the fritters were very delicate and had been freshly prepared, (not pre heated) the bbq wings were ok in my opinion, but my patner seemed to enjoy them. For our main course we had oxtail and jerk chicken both with rice n peas. The Oxtail gets a 10/10, my Jerk chicken was tasty but the only criticsm is that there was enough gravy/sauce, which i prefer to have for my rice. The macaroni cheese was standard, as was the coleslaw.... The fruit punch is a must have!! I couldn't stop drinking it, which stopped me from enjoying everything fully because the drink had filled me up... The waitress was very friendly and professional, not the usual (soon come) attitude linked with many caribbean restaurants. Does this restaunrant warrant a return from me? Maybe who knows if i'm in the area yes.... overall a 7/10 from the caribbean cuisine expert. The search continues for the best caribbean restaurant in London!

I have criss-crossed London twice in the space of one weeek in order to visit Stoshus, indicating my impression of this wonderful restaurant. It is my new favourite hot-spot, and I fully intend to work my way tastilly through their menu. The carrot and ginger juice is divine and to be ordered by the pitcher, as one glass is never enough.

I was thoroughly impressed by the food, service, friendly staff, value for money and warm ambience. I visited the restaurant initially as part of a party of two, and the service was superb. I then tried it on a Sunday afternoon, as part of a larger party and again the service was fantastic.

Try it. I am sure that you will not be dissapointed.

I have had the privilege of dining at Stoshus on two occasions. It is an exceptional restaurant on the London eatery scene. The combination of warm hospitality and delicious, mouth-watering food makes it a much sought after place to dine.

If you're looking for a relaxed, friendly environment to chill-out and ingest succulent food then Stoshus is the hot spot for you.

A final point on the unique, awesome name "Stoshus". Try standing in front of the mirror and repeating it 3 or more times. Guaranteed to put a big smile on your face. The name evokes an instant recall of the witty humour and creative genius inherent in African & Caribbean culture!

My family and I had the pleasure of celebrating 2 birthdays at Stoshus. The staff were welcoming, warm and ameanable. The music just right, the ambience relaxing, familiar and safe. The food was excellent, all eaters were accomodated, vegan, vegetarian, meat eaters, each one feeling pampered, the presentation was wonderful. Decor, classy leaving one with the feeling of being utterly spoilt and honoured. Thank you Stoshus.
