This is the most wonderful local eaterie I have found in London, since I discovered Ciao Bella in Lambs Conduit. I have to say it's friendlier than that place, too. It's full of locals, the food is fantastic and the family who run it are very friendly. Imagine Cheers (the bar) as a restaurant, add windows and delicious food (steaks / pasta / fish / ...) and you've pretty much got it.

This gem of an Italian restaurant is nestled by Waitrose in a small precinct near the Barbican. It's the sort of place that I thought had died out- small, friendly and rather cost, with excellent, freshly cooked food and great service. Prices are reasonable enough to be an occasional lunch venue for most people, or for special occasions too. Recommended.
