What a disappointing dining experience. The food was extremely bland - it tasted as though the meat was cooked separately to the sauces and the sauces added on top. There was absolutely no flavour in the meat. The service was friendly, except was too efficient. Our starters arrived within 3 minutes of ordering them, mains 3 minutes after we finished the starters and so on. We finished the entire 3 course meal within the hour.

If you do still want to try it, make sure they don't sit you in the top right corner as there was no music. The other part of the restaurant has nicer atmosphere because of the music.

Overall, I say, don't bother.

A friend recomended the souk medina for my birthday ,once I ve booked I got realy nervous after reading one negative review about the service , too late to cancel , took a chance.

Once there it was nothing like describe in that review , this place is amazing,

the food was nice and lovelly , table arrangement was spot on for a saturday night , we were seated downstairs . the service was effecient and very friendly in fact we were spoiled , extra food was brought in at no extra charge and the waiterss and what seems to be the manager pop in to our table regularly with a big smile .

I will go back again and again.

Went there on Sat night. service was slow, and rude. We were sat downstairs in a tiny area, where they piled more and more people who arrived with no reservation. ( We had booked weeks in advance). Ended up sharing a table and bench with 2 complete strangers! Not what we wanted.

Staff were inconsistent. 2 of the waiters were lovely, the third, and our main one was rude and seemed spaced out. He kept coming in, staring into space and leaving again without talking to anybody or taking any orders.

Repeatedly asked for a glass of wine which never came.

Bitterly dissapointed in the starters, though the main courses were delicious. didn't stay for dessert, the rudeness of the waiter made us leave!

This place was amazing. I can't remember going to a restaurant with such tasty, flavoursome food.

I had heard some bad reviews about this place - that the food was bland, seating arrangements cramped and the service was poor. But all these reviews were proved wrong. I ordered a mixed tagine with some lamb, chicken and some kind of spicy sausage and lots of couscous and vegatables. It was bursting with flavour and so tasty! The service was great, I was served someone elses Red Mullet by mistake but the waiter quickly sorted out the problem and gave me an extra plate of humous to make up for it.

The atmosphere was brilliant and just as I was finishing my meal a beautiful belly dancer appeared and persuaded me to shake my thang with her for ten minutes! My friends were very impressed! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

what a lovely place

my husband and I were looking for something differnent in london , i must tell you that we were not disapointed , very unusual tasty food, warm service despite the fact that it was saturday night with a full restaurant , we have enjoyed everything, we will go back next time with friends , the ideal party venue.

I have visited Souk Medina on numerous occasions and have always found the staff friendly and helpful. Having said this I visited the restaurant on my birthday last week with around 12 of my friends in tow and was bitterly disappointed by the rudeness of the staff.

We were seated downstairs despite having told them on the phone that we were only visiting to drink and have some snacks (downstairs is normally reserved for people having a sit down meal) - we began to order drinks and some people went to buy them at the bar - each time we bought a drink we were charged for service (even if we bought drinks at the bar and carried them to the table ourselves) - what an outrage!

Later we wanted to order food and we were told that we had to order from the set menu (which was £20 a head) - I asked for the snack menu and was told that the set one was the only one they had - I ended up arguing with the waiter as I knew they were with-holding the other menu (not to mention it's all listed on their website). In the end he gave in and brought us the other menu.

To be fair the food and atmosphere have been fantastic every time I have been there but on this occasion the service really ruined it for me.

Went last night and had an excellent time! Great food, great ambience and great value. Was the first time I tried sheesha also and the staff were more than happy to show an ignoramus like me what I was supposed to do.

My only criticism is that the service may be a little TOO efficient! There was always a waitress hanging around that got a little disconcerting, and our main courses were brought over the moment we had finished our starters.

But the food was excellent (I had chicken in filo pastry to start, my friend had the stuffed vine leaves, and we both had lamb tagines for main) and the ambience was second to none. Hard to believe we were still in London.

What a bad place to go out to in London!

The food we were served was obviously warmed up in a microwave and tasted like CostCutter's instant food at best. The chickens served there taste like they have died of depression, while rice was served with tomato sauce!? Never again I say.

The lucky thing was that they forgot to serve us our sheesha, so we cut our losses and moved over to good places in Edgware Road.

Oh, and the belly dancer looked like someone's grandmother. She danced at one point while there was no music playing in the background.

Horrible place! Never going there again.

Went there last nigh with a group of friends,amazing food,we had the set menu ,very good value for money , refill as much as you want ,nice.

as for the service , we find the staff very friendly and helpfull.

we will go back again , the atmosphere was busing ,we had a lovely time.

My husband and I went for our anniversary after having read all the great reviews - and were both bitterly dissapointed - never again!! Maybe it was just us, but it felt like a fast food chanin - sit, eat, don't linger, get out... On top of that while the design might have been nice, were ushered into the farthest corner with hardly any light to see each other, not even talking decor - which wouldn't be that bad if there weren't about another 50 people in the room with us. And on the way out we were just too sick to pay notice....
