I went to Souk Medina on a Friday evening and I must say it is an excellent restaurant. The reception was welcoming and friendly and I immediately felt at home. The food was amazing, the service was excellent. We were quite a large group, we all had the Set Menu (which is also free refill) and it was good value for money. All in all it was a great evening and I would reccommend it for large groups and for intimate romantic evenings.

I will deffinitely return and am even considereing having my 28th birthday there.

To conclude, go to Souk Medina for great food, atmosphere and service.

I visited this restaurant several years ago and had a great evening with lovely food and fun atmosphere. We therefore, decided to take some friends along last night. However, the experience couldnt have been different. The staff were rude, unhelpful and unprofessional and the food was barely average.

We were seated at a table with not enough chairs and had to repeatedly ask for another chair so that we could all sit down. The service was then brisk and unfriendly. It then got worse when all the main courses arrived other than one. After enquiring three times and being told it was 'coming' I had to go and tell a waitress that we had all finished our food and our friend was still without food. I was then told to relax and reminded that it was a saturday night and they were very busy. I was quite relaxed until this point and would have been happy with an apology and explanation. This never came. Another waiter then came to deal with the situation and, after tutting at my complaint, we finally got the remaining food.

Unfortunately we never received an apology and the bill came with 15% service charge already added. Obviously I explained that a service charge should only be paid in the event of good service and therefore did not pay this.

I have never experienced such terrible manners in a restaurant and will never return.

I could kick myself for not reading these reviews earlier. We had a terrible time at Souk Medina! They promote the restaurant as ideal for large parties but unfortunately completely screwed up our booking (despite providing an email confirmation). It was my friends birthday and they basically ruin the occasion.

We arrived on time only to be told we were half an hour late - and the receptionist told us off like little school girls! They completely rushed the food to get us out on time - to the point they were removing plates when people were still eating. Beware of the set menu - alcohol is included in the set menu but they itemise it separately making it very confusing for large groups (in addition, they kept removing and bringing in bottles of wine and water). I have since sent them an email to complain about the booking but have yet to receive a response! We spent over £450 (a party of 11 people) and I wished we would have gone somewhere a bit more organised and professional. What we had of the food - the chicken seemed to be the best thing on the menu but I have been to better north African restaurants in London.

Disappointing!

Went last night with a group of friends and had the 'party menu' - food so so, the chicken though was delicious and really the only highlight. Staff on the whole were pleasent though one in particular was quite rude (stressed?) and was unable to make any decisions. Also, if you are in a group make sure you keep track of what you actually do drink - you're supposed to receive a bottle of wine per person, we actually ended up in an argument with said waiter as we were two bottles down and those drinking beer were also short-changed.

Bill came to about £500 (incl £50 odd service charge.

Nice decor, atmosphere is good just a shame the food is poor and one member of staff is really rude and unhelpful.

As a group of friends looking for a special night out , we booked at the Medina in Covent Garden.

My first observation was the entrence of the restaurant , dark and mysterious hem????

Once inside I was stunned what a beautifull decor, It really took me back to my childhood , I was brought up in Morocco up to the age of 15.

We were seated at the top balcony , again a unique design , candles , morroccan soffas and cushions.

we had a set menu at £30 per person , a real feast , starters were very nice but the main courses were amazing , a combination of Tagines , fish , meat , prunes and also not to forget the couscous dishes.

Top mark for the food , I have not eaten better morroccan food in London.

To add to a wonderful evening , we were treated by belly dancing show , gorgeous girls .

Thank you for a special night out .

Nasty, Small and dirty! I went to Souk Bazaar for dinner after work for a little Christmas do. Turned out to be the worst place i have ever been! On arrival we asked to do Shisha (Water pipe) and it took the waiter 20 min to set it up, we were not asked what flavour we wanted. After about 10 min my friend got a mouth full of dirty water through the pipe, we complained but the waiter said the pipe was ok. So we decided to ask if we could be seated for dinner early as the Shisha was nasty. We had booked a table for 4 people at 7pm, however the booking sheet said a table for 7 people at 4pm. After about 10 min of deciding if they could fit us in we were seated upstairs in a small room with hardly any space. Starter were good we ordered the Meza platter, we ordered mains, firstly there was no space on the small tables to put all the food down so i had to put my dish in my LAP! No-one liked the food! We paid the bill and ran out of there!!

This place is nasty! Not what the photos make out! Stay Away!!!!
