I booked this restaurant for my twenty-fifth birthday celebrations and chose it on the merits that it was recommended for big groups, had a fun and intesresting theme and moroccan is my favourite cuisine.
I arrived slightly late, due to unforseen transport problems, to find my guests awaiting me who had been shown to the table; unfortunately it was in the middle of the belly dancers set which lasted half an hour and was accompanied by incredibly loud music which meant greeting my friends and having any kind of conversation was virtually impossible.
Service was good and the food of a pretty high standard - also plenty of it. The one bone of contention which would discourage me from recommending this restaurant is that, despite the fact we wanted to take advantage of the unlimited food offer (set menu - eat as much as you like), we were told that teh table was booked and so were rushed through the courses and served hastily by staff who encouraged us out as soon as possible. This was a shame as it spoiled the mood somewhat and was commented on by all guests.
It was also incredibly hot (we were seated upstairs) to the point of being uncomfotable.
I would visit this restaurant again on a quieter lunch or mid-week dinner basis but certainly wouldn't recommend it on a Friday or Saturday night, especially if you want to celebrate any occasion and would like to make an evening special.

My Husband and i went to Souk Medina on Easter Sunday we were both very dissapointed, we were seated downstairs which was fine. The Starters arrived within about 1 minute of ordering which to me dosent come across as being fresh food the humus was watery the falafel were like cannon balls. five minutes later we were served the main meal which was ok but everything was far to rushed and not worth the money we wont be going back

Me and my girlfriend went there for Valentines day and the food was great along with the atmosphere but the service was absolutley terrible. Before ordering the food we asked for some drinks and the waitress said she would be right back and 10 minutes later we had to ask again, the food came pretty quick but took a while to clear it away for the next course. With the dessert we ordered a frozen mint tea and an arabic coffee which we had to ask for 3 time before getting up and going to find out where it was 35 mins later only to be told the coffee machine wasnt working (well thanks for telling us and seeing if we wanted something else) and about 10 mins after that the other drink came.
I was going to hire a room there for 30 people for my birthday but after that service for only 2 people you have got to be kidding.

Beware...Don't go to Souk! I went to the Covent Garden restaurant yesterday afternoon with a group of friends and it was a really poor experience. When we arrived our initial impression was good because of the great decor and good music, but our enthusiasm quickly evaporated when were treated badly by a very rude waiter. Despite the restaurant being next to empty, he insisted that we sit at a table in a dark corner, up some stairs by a fire escape. When we explained that we would rather sit downstairs where it was cooler, and not dark, he simply said "that is the table I'm going to give you"! When the food arrived (before our drinks!) the portions were shockingly small and lukewarm! The menu is supposedly Moroccan, but please dont judge Moroccan food by these standards!!
Souk Sucks!

Food was below average and expensive although the belly dancers were good fun. Waitresses were rude and wanted to be elsewhere; full of hens do's.

We organised a party for our friend's Hen's night last week end.
We had the group menu with a complimentary cocktail and the belly dancer.
The show was fantastic and the food delicious. It was a great evening.
Highly recommended.
