Went to Ruby Blue restaurant to celebrate a friends birthday.
Most of us did not want the only menu they provided us, since most at our table were students and did not want to spend too much for the food (£18-£23 without the service charge!), considering we were going for drinks afterwards.
So, they provided an extra menu for us after we said that we are going to leave, and so we noticed that the meals on the newly provided menu cost around £10.
Well, as I had not eaten for most of the day, I stuck with the expensive menu since the description of the food seemed more filling. Very, very, very deceiving I must say!
The chicken kiev on the expensive menu was EXACTLY the same as the one on the cheaper menu...the only difference was that it was described differently on the expensive menu....to only sound expensive.
The only addition I had compared to the cheaper menu was that I had some extra salad and crawfish (so small that it does not even fill 1/10 of your stomach), and some regular profiteroles for dessert (and according to the menu, it was supposed to be with Bailey's Cream, which was the main reason why I ordered it, yet not a taste of Bailey's Cream did I endure...).
The cheaper menu even had a filling starter and even dessert!
I felt I was ripped off...In fact, everyone at the table (as I was the only moron who ordered the expensive meal) was laughing when they saw the comparison of the expensive meal to the cheaper meal.
Never again will I set foot into Ruby Blue.
