Ruby Blue

Bouncers there are unnecessarily rude, I guess after dealing with drunken clubbers downstairs they find it hard to acclimatise to a simple couple whose sole intent is to go to the restaurant for a nice meal. I nearly got insulted, called a liar and stopped outside because they thought that I was trying to sneak in the club, even after showing them my reservation number and booking details for a table at the restaurant. Only one of them was level headed enough and had more than a pea as a brain to understand their misunderstanding. He is the only reason for the star.

Visited March 25th, very busy due to private party, however had a good meal with attentive service, very good offer of 50% off al-a-carte alongside happy hour 5-8pm, would recommend

Went on a Friday night hoping the piano man would be there, but he only does Saturday's now. That aside I had a top night, there was a 50% off deal not just on food but drinks as well up to 10pm. I have been before and found the food to be just good not great but this time I had the half roast chicken which was massive succulent and very tasty. Absolute bargain.

I'm going again on Wednesday with a theatre meal deal and am very much looking forward to it.

Food was gorgeous, well presented and on time. Served by friendly staff. Cocktails were also lovely. Everything reasonably proceed for city centre restaurant. Atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. Piano player/singer was a nice touch and gave the evening extra brownie points.

Our experience from inital phone call enquiry through to the bill at the end of the night was absolutly brilliant! Excellent customer service, reasonably priced, food tasted lovely, live jazz on the night really captured the romantic atmosphere... overall an amazing experience! Defiantly would recommend to friends!

Myself and my fiance chose Ruby Blue especially as the place we wanted to dine when we came to London for a 2 night weekend break to celebrate our 1st anniversary. The reviews we read were mixed. But we were not disappointed. Everything from the food, the service, the atmosphere were superb. We cannot fault the evening. It was perfect. Our waiter topped up our wine glasses when he was passing (which always seemed to be like the right time!) and we were never bothered by such sily questions as "is everything alright with your meal". We would have said so if not! The food was delicious. There was adequate rest time in between each course. The atmosphere was very buzzy and sociable which we liked. Everyone just seemed happy and chatty. I can ssafely say we will most definately be back. And will not be waiting another year to enjoy such wonderful food, service and atmosphere.

went last nite 14th jan 2010 at 6pm did not know about offer very busy got a table service good starters fab quick to get mains had lamb steak fab chicken keiv was a bit dry and good risotto very suprised by bill 45.00 pound fab that was with service charge naughty to put on but overall would go back and found it good

Absolutely awful place, for gullible tourists only. I have never been spoken to in such a condescending manner before, by the staff there, who have such over-inflated egos. We got totally ripped off and they refused to return the deposit left to reserve a table around the 'dance floor' (more like a postage stamp). Food was over priced, poorly presented, and tasted like cardboard. When my friend emailed to complain, the manager responded in such an unprofessional manner, and had the audacity to warn her to 'keep away from his staff'. I am seriously thinking of taking the matter further and am contemplating taking legal advice. Really, DO NOT GO THERE.

We got there early for a meal and I was a little put off as the whole place stank.

The restaurant staff were rude and condescending.

I had the surf and turf my first lobster and had a great deal of trouble finding any meat in my 1/2 lobster.

When we went downstairs we were asked to leave and were given no reasons why by the rude security staff.

The whole experience was a complete let down and I would recommend anybody avoid this place like the plague.
