This place has the potential to offer a good evening out: bustling atmosphere, reasonable prices, lots of Korean punters and the food that I managed to eat was well prepared.

However our waitress spoke very limited English and had trouble understanding my order. The bibimba that I ordered was so late after the rest of the meal that I had to cancel it and leave without it - at least the waitress was genuinely apologetic.

Other waitresses seemed more professional so probably just pot luck who you get, but I blame the management for not choosing their staff more carefully.

There are definitely better Korean restaurants in London.

I have eaten at Gama four times now and I can say I have always been more than happy, in fact every time I visit London now I plan to go there for a meal. I have many Korean who do most of the talking but they also agree that everything is to a good standard.

The majority of the customers are Korean and Japenese so always a good sign.

Last time a friend and I enjoyed a meal from the Soju set. It was fantastic 10/10. I Highly recommend.

We had an office dinner here for 12 people and enjoyed ourselves if only let down by some major mistakes. The lack of english meant they got our food order wrong (which they changed graciously).

Then we complained the vegetarian dish had beef in it - the waitress repeatedly insisted "most vegetarians like this dish".

Overall the service was poor and the dishes came out over a 20 min period

On the plus side the restaurant was clean and the food was tasty.

One of the best Koreans in the area, I reckon, and I've tried them all. They do a few Japanese dishes too.

Menu not as expansive or interesting as some of the competition but classics like bibimbab and bulgogi are of course present.

Reliable and tasty, some of the dishes tend to be a bit sweet, but they are good value.

Korean students make up most of the staff but service is good and the manager is very keen to get things right.

Compared to some of the other Korean places round Tottenham Court Road Gama looks smarter but is not much more expensive.

Recommend the mixed cold pickled starter, bean pancake and the non BBQ plate pork dishes. Don't recommend the house red.

Gama is really quite good. Not amazing, but worth a look.

I, as Japanese, only one thing to say

'This is NOT Japanese Restaurant'

This is Korian Restaurant where they

serve several Japanese dishes.

As Korian Restaurant, this is not special place to go.

The food was ok, nothing extra special. The staff were ok as well, they had no problem understanding our orders. Some of our plates had bits of old food stuck to them, so we swapped them with the table next to us.

The main room, which is quite brightly lit, looks ok. However, we were seated in this huge side room, and it was quite depressing. It looked and felt like a school canteen. Better lighting, some plants, and a few mirrors could have sorted the atmosphere out.

They quite helpfully ask you if you want the mild version or the spicy version of food. As anyone who knows Korean food can attest to, the real thing can be quite overwhelming, so it's good that they give you the choice.

There are many dishes on the menu that have an asterix, and these can be made vegetarian on request.

I'd go back, but only if they installed better ventilation. Most Korean restaurants have quite strong extractor fans, because BBQ stone pots do give off quite a pong.

Went to Gama on a not really so busy Valentine's day - and the place was in melt down. Food was fine, but it took about an hour to arrive (and complaining), and when it arrived, bit by bit, there was no logic in what came. Despite complaining things did not improve - and several items we ordered never arrived. But they did reappear on our bill.

This place may be good if you are the only customer, but not if they have more than three tables full.

It's the first time for us to eat at Gama on a Saturday evening. We ordered seafood egg pan cake, Gyoza dumplings, raw Beef and cooked beef Bibimbab. The food was good and reasonably priced. The servicing was just alright. Most of the waitresses looked as student waitressing part time rather than professionally trained staffs. Compared with Arang, which is a set up for fine dining Korean restaurant in terms of its atmosphere and pricing, Gama is more for mid-scale market. The toilet was resonably clean when we were there. But I'm not surprise if some people find the standard of clealiness was not there as I noticed there seemed to be no supervisor or managerial staff overseeing details like that. If you're looking for a meal for the family, Gama offers you good value Korean food but if you're looking for better dining experience I'd suggest Arang.

My bf brought me to this restaurant yesterday which turned out to be the best Korean food I had in London! The restaurant has recently been refurbished and the dining area is larger than before. The service was a bit slow. We had this Korean hotpot with meat, noodles and RICE CAKE in it!! The hotpot came with an egg cake,a mackerel and a bottle of Korean Whisky. That only costed 25 pounds in total as a set meal. If you like spicy food, this is definitely a place to go, especially in winter! =)
