Having grown up in Bavaria - I have a true idea on what I'd expect from a place in London that names itself Bavarian Beerhouse.

This is place is an embarrassment. The food is warmed up and over priced, the staff careless, the decoration cheap and tacky.

Even if I hadn't grown up in Bavaria and have a strong opinion on how it should be, this place is either way the worst restaurant I have ever been too in London.

The food and beer were fine but the beer list was not very extensive or interesting.

The waitress just didn't have a very good manner and the decoration was pretty basic/awful.

There are better offerings out there in the german beer hall genre

We spend an Oktoberfest evening (October) and our corp Christmas party (December) there and had a wonderful time. Waitresses (and 1 waiter in Lederhosen!) were quick and friendly. Food arrived on time and as booked. Nice wine, though (I do not drink beer). Had a great time and will be back shortly.

Three points:

1. Slow service - our waitress told me it wasn't her problem that we had been there 45 mins and hadn't been served yet. Must have been my fault then.

2. Cold food - cold chips - yum! cold sausages as well. over cooked schnitzel and there weren't enough burger\mince patties for us all

3. Expensive - very!

Seriously - go somewhere else!!!

Honestly, I have to contradict all of you. I've been to the Bavarian Beerhouse several times now and enjoyed it whenever I've been there more and more. I went there again last Thursday together with a couple of mates for celebrating the Oktoberfest. We ordered schnitzel platters in advance and we were absolutely impressed and loved the food very much. On top our waitress was wonderful and we had a lot of fun spending our time there again. I can only recommend the Bavarian Beerhouse!

My husband loves schnitzels so I took him here for his birthday last month. What an embarrassment! Cheap, tacky decor and definitely some of the worst service we have had ANYWHERE. The restaurant wasn't busy at all (it was a Monday night) yet the waitress seemed more interested in socialising with her friends than in serving her customers. When we needed something from her we had to wait . . . and wait . . . and wait some more. When it was time to pay I got hassles because my Visa card is from Canada -- yet I gave her the card at the beginning of the evening (kind of says it all when a downmarket restaurant like this requires a credit card from you before you even start eating!) AND I have been using this same card all over the UK for years! It was just appalling, and a really bad experience all round. We will NEVER go there again and will definitely tell everyone else to avoid it too. A total waste of what should have been a pleasant night out.

Went there a week ago, having visited Bavarian style beer houses in other countries - even Las Vegas.

This was awful. Decor was really poor.

Service was the worst that I have had in years in terms of being ignored. Quite night, only about 4 tables in use and one waitress. Easy you'd think?

She had her back to the diners all night whilst she socialised with friends or colleagues. I was dining with my wife, got served my beer, but waitress left wife's drink on bar and went of to socialise. We had to go and fetch our other drink which is against their policy, but we insisted. No attempt to "upsell" us some more drinks/dessert/coffee. Didn't know how to process our card in the PDQ machine and told us to go off and get cash (she found someone to get the card through in the end). Is this any way for a restaurant to make money - don't they care? Do they even have a manager? Does he/she even care? Do the owners know how poorly this is run? 1st time I can remember refusing to leave a tip!

If the owners have entrusted their business to a manager, I hope they read these reviews occasionally.

What an awful place. I travel to germany regularly and this place is an truly terrible.

Food seems like it's just come out of a microwave. Authentic german Sausages? You'll get better quality in asda.

And which german beerhouse places an automatic 10% service charge on a bill? No, if the service is good you pay them because you appreciate table service.

£4.20 a pint? Where else would you put up with those prices for a place that isn't authentic?

This place is for the tourists, just avoid it.

I am a German myself and trust me the place is awful since it opened and desperately tries to keep that level. Food is absolutely garbage. I got the impression the food is not even cooked there. From the vacuumed plastic bag into the microwave and served to the guests. No one in Germany (not even in Bavaria) would go to that place.

I was not even allowed to watch a football game because I had not booked in advance (i have never been told such rubbish in an english pub) despite plenty of seats being available. They offered a seat in the corner away from the screen which would give me the opportunity to "listen to the game". The place is just shocking.

Tuesday, April 21, 2009 - Amazingly, this beerhouse serves up some pretty tasty German dishes and one can have a pretty robust three course meal, if you so choose…The highlight of my afternoon arrived in the form of the Münchener Schweinebraten – The Munich pork roast served with dark beer sauce and potato dumplings, normally comes with red cabbage, but I asked for mine with saurkrauts. Oh, I can still smell the hearty beer infused gravy that it came in.
