Liquorish

I had a horrible meal here a few months ago. My husband and I stopped in for lunch and I ordered a roast beef sandwich, as it sounded quite nice on the menu. What turned up on the plate was a paper thin, grey slice of what was presumably roast beef (that looked as though it had come out of a packet of cheap luncheon meat several days earlier and left to discolour), between two gigantic slices of plain white bread. Then we were charged £8 for the privledge. I wasn't even given the opportunity to send the damn thing back as our server disappeared shortly after dropping that stinker on our table.
The non-alcoholic Mojitos were nice, though - but that isn't nice enough to bring us back through those doors.
It's kind of a shame, too, as the chillout being spun by the DJs was really lovely for a hangover on a Sunday morning - and the decor was nice as well. But I've never been more thoroughly unimpressed by a restaurant/bar in London. At least with dodgy Old Man pubs you can't expect much by way of nice food - but this place looked far more promising than most other places on Lordship Lane but disappointed in every way. We go to The Uplands now instead - at least they acknowledge you presence there - and smile at their patrons and everything. How novel.

Faced with the dilemma of where to take my mum and grandma for lunch I am so glad I picked Liquorish (thanks to the previous reviewer for influencing my decision!). It isn't easy finding somewhere with a menu and ambience that will satisfy a group spanning 3 generations, but this was perfect: stylish without being pretentious, very reasonably priced, simple but tasty food and wonderful service from the incredibly accommodating staff, who gave us space to enjoy a leisurely lunch despite being busy. I can't fault it on any aspect and and look forward to returning.

I have eaten at Liquorish a few times recently and the standard of the food has always been very high. The menu is varied which makes it easy to keep going back. The lamb and cous-cous was absolutely delicious and my partner's burger was also very tasty. The ingredients are all organic I believe. I would recommend Liquorish highly for both drinks and dinner - last night there was a funky band there singing live and they were a fantastic accompaniment!

i had fantastic time here the other night. we originally just went in for a drink but after a few great cocktails decided to stay for dinner. the prawns were fantastic and monkfish almost as good. add the friendly service and laid back atmosphere and this place is really something.

I've been to Liquorish twice now... the first time all 3 of my party really enjoyed the food and service (the homemade veggie burger and chips was lovely). The second time we went the food was cold and the service was poor. We waited ages for someone to serve our table, we then waited ages for the food, which was cold and were then charged incorrectly. Perhaps we went on an off day (it was a very busy sunday lunchtime), but I wasn't too impressed. I'd maybe give it one final chance, seeing as it was nice the first time we went, but with the huge variety of eateries available on Lordship Lane, I might not bother!
