I was very much looking forward to my visit, with 7 friends after reading the rave reviews. I am left wondering what I am missing out on and can't keep the phrase "Emperor's New Clothes" from my mind. The food is fab and the service was friendly, yet frustratingly muddled. We were waited on by whoever happened to be passing which led to pretty chaotic dining. This, of itself, not least because what came was so good, could have been fun. Trying to sort out the mess of what purported to be our bill, sadly wasn't. The fact it was packed on a Wednesday is clearly testament to Wright Bros popularity but it really is a scrum. Great if you are a retired number 8 who misses the pack or you are reuniting with a former cell mate with whom you are used to sharing close quarters. For me, I prefer a bit of breathing space.

Went for Satuday lunch and was going to write a review but then I read CMR's review and I can't really add much to the last line "When I want to share good seafood with good friends in a happy room, I'll be there." Oh alright, I'll add a bit, the scampi was fantastic and totally restored my love of this much maligned dish.

A happy place!

All round very good indeed.

Small, unprepossessing, and very buzzy without being too horrendously noisy, the atmosphere is one of people enjoying themselves in a simple, candle-lit bar-room.

This is a great little spot with excellent seafood, at quite reasonable prices, served by friendly, knowledgeable and efficient staff.

You sit, mostly, on high chairs at high shared tables , or at the bar, and there are also a few smaller tables. Don't be put off by the idea of sharing. You won't be crammed in or find your neighbours in your lap. However, if you need a large amount of personal space, and waiting staff beamed in on your table alone, well, just don't go.

Wright Bros seem to have got the room just right, I would say.

Although full on our visit, Monday evening (and that says something) we were seated on time. Wine, good and reasonably priced, came quickly, orders taken and everything seemed to arrive at a perfect juncture.

Food? Oysters fab, and they do an incredibly large range both au naturel and otherwise, were deemed excellent. Crab soup with coriander, lemon grass etc was delicious, but just maybe a little more crab would be in order as the flavourings swamped the amount of crab more than a tad. Plump moules were deemed excellent. Fish Pie was just quite good, not nearly brilliant, and not quite what I think of as a pie. Nice chunks of fish, a bit overcooked, covered in Gruyere and Parmesan, the latter being somewhat burnt... a crime to my buds!

These niggles did nothing at all to dull our enjoyment of the evening, which I think is testament to a very good operation indeed.

Will I go back? Indeed. When I want to share good seafood with good friends in a happy room, I'll be there.

an absolute pearl of a restaurant in a sea of overpriced and overhyped London establishemenst. A real treat that has never let us down. Service and Food equally superb.

What a tremendous little place. service was wonderful from greeting to the bill. we arrive without a reservation and though the place was packed the MD offered us a table along the counter for a reasonable amount of time. the service was propmt but attentive and we never needed anything. The food was especially spectacular and the fish pie and fresh scampi were spectacular, the selection of oysters is comprehensive and the shuker a true professional. It was a wonderful experience that exceeded our expectaions. will be back as soon as i m in the need to be really impressed.

I went for diner to Wright Brothers Oyster & porter house with my friend who recommended this place.

When we arrived at 7.30 the waiter said that we had to be out by 9pm, Fair enough...We had a good hour and a half to "enjoy" out meal.

We had a selection of oysters, crab soup which was delicious clam mariniere and a bottle of poully fume. We finished diner at 8.30. We had 30 minutes left before we had to leave the table, at 8.45 the waiter still hadn't come to us to offer the desert menu, we then called him over to ask for the menu, when he came to our table he asked straight away if we wanted the bill, we said that we actually wanted to have a look at the desert menu, I did not have time to finish my sentence that he said, but you have to leave the table in 15 minutes. I then told him that he could have brought the desert menu, his answer was " How am I supposed to know that you want desert, I am not mind reader", I then asked for the bill, he brought it over but never came back to take payment. We had to wave accross the restaurant to get attention.

I think it is a shame to have staff who do not have a clue about service in such a lovely place......
