I have visited the restaurant a couple of times and have always been pleased with the excellent fresh and original food. The decor has improved recently - although it does need a bit more 'atmosphere'. The only downside was the service - which could be a bit more attentive and discrete. Otherwise I highly recommended it for either romantic 'tete-a-tete' dinners or larger parties.

Most disappointing. The street food dishes were lacking in punch. The curry dishes insipid. Decor all orange - yuck!!

The apparently low prices are an illusion. For example rice is not included in the curry prices.

Absolutely fantasic! A friend and I visited the restaurant last night at about 7pm and were still able to use the voucher. The food was tasty and gave us the opportunity to try food we wouldn't have otherwise ordered - but will now! Wine was reasonably priced but could have been colder. So much food, we couldn't actually eat it all. I'm already spreading the word and will return for sure.

What can I say.....went there with high expectations and walked out in the end HUGELY DISAPPOINTED! For those who said the food was tasty - WRONG! The feeling after every mouthful is NOT TASTE but is called HEARTBURN!

The food lacked the basic ingredients and too much "fancy-pants" stuff. Potato cakes: rubbish! Bulgar wheat salad: whose idea was it to serve this as a starter!

The best thing on the menu is the MINT tea to fight your heartburn.

Worst indian restaurant I've ever been to - never again!

Change your lunch plans! Imli now has a set lunch for £7 which is the best value in town and changes weekly so that regulars won't get bored. This is a great way to sample Imli with minimal investment.

Personally I like to share a lot of little picky dishes, and have never been shocked at the bill. My favourite dishes are banana dosa, sev puri, grilled chicken, aubergine masala and prawn pav (lose the bun). There's also a fantastic lamb dish but I forget which one. The raspberry and black salt sorbet is mindblowing. Among the drinks, try the layered lassi or the home made lemonade with fresh thyme.

I went with a group and called ahead to warn the restaurant that I was bringing a vegan. She got her own special menu for the same price. Obviously, Indian is the most vegan-friendly cuisine, nonetheless she has transferred her allegiance from nearby Busaba (no queue at Imli... yet).

We went to Imli on Sunday having read good reviews in the press. The décor, service and presentation were all just fine but the food was pretty average. The somasos were, well, like samosas although the parathas in dipping sauces were quite interesting. The main courses were, however, something of a disappointment. My wife and I had chicken haryali which claims to have a cashew nut sauce (amongst other things) but which was pretty much undetectable to our palates. My wife pointed out that the chicken used in the dish was basically a single piece of thigh meat that had been shredded. My 12-year-old son (who, in any case, doesn't particularly like spicy food) was impressed with his main course, masala grilled chicken with tumeric mash, but when I hsd a piece it tasted very bland and rubbery. My advice to the owners of Imli is ditch the 'fusion' concept they're obviously operating with, reinstating more traditional 'Indian' flavours and, if they are worried about profit margins, put the prices up to cover the costs of better quality ingredients. That way, they will be able to roll out several of these restaurants in the London area and do for Indian food what Gourmet Burger Kitchen has done for burgers.

Very overrated. Overpriced and small portions. No value for money. We were simply disappointed! Would not go again.
