Wednesday, February 09, 2011 - Food here is light on the pocket but also light on the stomach with plates of tapas-style dishes that offer a variety of choice for your money and the chance to share...The Tilapia Amritsari, Tilapia fish in light batter and of gram flour, garlic and paprika was very good, the fish tasty and the batter crisp and light. The spicing sparky but mild. We liked the Papdi Chat, a real reminder of Indian street food with the cooling yoghurt against the tamarind, the crunchy wheat crisps and the healthy dose of bean sprouts.

After seeing the restaurant on Masterchef we were looking forward to sampling the delights of Imli first hand.

Unfortunately the experience did not live up to expectations.

Whilst we ate our food (after starving all day in anticipation) we will not be visiting again.

There was nothing to dislike as such as the meal was the blandest Indian meal I have ever tasted and I counted (because i could) only 3 pieces of chicken in my main course.

On commenting to the manager on duty 19/1 we were told it was "our pallets" not the food and dismissed us rudely and walked away.

Will definately not be recommending or visiting again.

Been thinking of writing a review for Imli from last 4 weeks, hectic work and moving stopped it all.

I have to write about this new favourite of mine. Indian sushi or India tapas..reasonably priced and very attentive service.

I LOVED IT. good blend of flavours and taste.

1 complaint - Can you open in Hampstead.

I went to Imli as part of a theatre deal with a friend. The food was wonderful and I was struck by the friendly and attentive manner of all the staff. The general atmosphere was relaxed and I could not fault anything about the whole experience. I will definitely go again.

I went to Imli with few friends and I must say that this was the best ever meal I had for a long long time. The menu selection is great, the food is freshly cooked and the quility of food was very good. Great value for money. We some great cocktails to start with and than few bottle of Pinot Grigio to polish off our meal

The service was extremly frindly with smile, our waiter recomended us with some great selection of dishes. I thought the fig and ginger Ice Cream was the best I have tasted. I have found a great Restaurant and I am going back very soon.

I went to this restaurant on Friday 10th Sept 2010. My wife and I are not from London and stumbled across this whilst looking for something else.

How glad was I that we couldn't go where we had planned! We had a lovely time. Indian tapas was new to us, unlike Spanish. We absolutely loved the food, the staff were very helpful, spending time to talk to us about the food and we thought the food prices were very reasonable for where we were.

The only thing I would say that was not to our liking, were the drink prices, London or not.

But, a small - around a lot of + !

I would go back!

Visited as a group of 10 people on Wednesday 22nd September 2010. The drinks prices are well over the top £7 for a bottle of Cobra. The food was o.k but there was a lack of chicken and lamb in the curry dishes , we had to fish for the meat in a sea of sauce. Service was o.k but when the bill arrived there was a £35 optional service charge already added to the bill which came to over £250. We decided not to take them up on the option and left a smaller tip. This venue seems to be frequented by posers who don't know what a good curry is. I would not return.

I had dinner there with friends and we were not impressed. The food tastes ok (some of the starters even very good) but nothing special. The nan was quite horrible. And the prices for drinks are risdiculous. One large Cobra for 7 pounds is too much.

Does anyone out there actually understand the concept of tapas? There are not really starters and mains but small dishes that come when they are ready. And tapas is supposed to be smaller portions!

I have eaten at Imli Twice now and have enjoyed both experiences. The food is different and i love the smaller portions, it means you can try more than you would normally.

I have found the staff to be great, being allergic to both wheat and dairy they have always been great at advising me and the kitchen are more than happy to accomodate, although I always call in advance when eating out anywhere to make sure what i can and cant eat.

I love this vibrant, different and delicious restaurant and would and have reccomend to anyone.

Ok, I feel like most people comment after a bad experience. I went last night with 3 friends and we all shared tapas and cocktails as the meal. We were stuffed after about 2 tapas each plus 1 rice and 2 nan total. I don't tolerate spicy food very well, and I survived fine. Usually, my problem is Indian food is too spicy for me to enjoy. There were only two small issues. The cocktails are overpriced for what they are (wait to go to the pub around the corner) but that happens in most restaurants. Also, we were left with our empty plates for quite a while, but I mentioned it to a waiter and they were gone quickly. Overall, I had a great time and would def go back for the tapas.
