I've been to this restaurant three times, and having read prior reviews, I agree with each somewhat. The food is very very good and authentic Morroccan. The cous cous itself is among the best I've ever had. And the owner is a delight - passionate about the food he serves.

However, do not ask the owner of the staff for recommendations. by the time they are through with you, you will have easily overordered, and the cost goes up quickly. Order some wine or beer, and 1 entree each. That's all you'll need.

And the tagines (particularly chicken or lamb), with a side of their cous cous to share is your best bet.

We went to Cous Cous Darna with some friends for a special occasion, we happened to be the only people at the restaurant. The waiter/ owner was very friendly and recommended dishes to us and since we had not been there before we trusted his judgement on the quantity. As things transpired, we actually over ordered and wasted nearly all the food. To our horror, we had to pay about 70 per head with no wine etc. and the food was substandard. I for one, will never ever go there and in fact I recommend to all readers that it is a rip off!

I've been to Cous Cous Darna several times and really love the place. It's a nice, small little restaurant...done up very tastefully. Love the decor, the Moroccan lamps, etc. Very authentic! A bit pricey, but the food's delicious - really love the apricot and pine nut chicken tagine. End up having it each time I go there - it's irresistable!

Booked as a last minute as the girlfriend fancied something 'Middle Eastern'

Nothing special with the place, pokey dark, looked tired but ok.

Had the starter at £7.95 pp which had a choice of 4 dishes, they were very small.

Main course had on recommendation by the waitress, who seemed helpful but it was hard to understand her or vice versa !

All in all, nothing special with this place as they all seem pretty run of the mill, which in a way I think has been seen and done in so many restaurants.

What annoyed me the most we were sat directly outside the kitchen / stairs to toilet and all you could hear were the staff talking and the noise from the kitchen. As the place was pretty empty, I would have liked to have sat in the back with a bit more open space, where I presume they have a belly dancer but nowhere visible on my night there.

Price wise, soons adds up...a bit pricey for what it was, food was ok but not worth the experience. £73, no wine for two........in there for less than one hour.

we had lunch for two and took the three course option.

The atmosphere is very nice, you feel like you entered a different country and everything falls into place: even the plates are not ordinary dishes - special colors and the name of the restaurant on them.

the food was briliat: soup as a starter and kagine dish as main course were great.

the service was nice as well.
