We visite the restaurant at 3.04.2011 and it was very very disapointing experience - we was charged for 4 meals instead of the 3 that we ordered. When we complained about this the restaurant manager give us new bill where we was charged 6 meals - 3 more then the number that we order. I am not sure but I hear complains from other tables too - mainly for the service fee that is coming unexpected at the end of the bill and for charging them for unordered meals. After some arguing the so called manager told us that he dont understand English and that my wife have ordered 3 more meals when I wasnt watching her - if it wasnt so stupid it can be funny but it wasnt. Please be aware of this place and the not nice suprises - it can ruin your dinner.

Ate at Beity two nights in a row I so impressed the first night!

I started out with Fattoush the first night (lettuce, cucumber, tomato, radish, pepper and onion salad, with sumac and toasted lebanese bread with lemon & olive oil dressing), which was absolutely delicious, and a large portion. It was served with a pile of warm flatbreads which were also lovely. followed this with the mixed meze, which was a generous portion served with salad. The tabbouleh was beautiful, as were the pastries, and the falafel and houmous were the best I've ever had.

The second night I had kibbeh maklieh (deep fried lamb meatball mixed with crushed wheat, mashed onion and stuffed with minced lamb, onion and pine nuts) which was succulent and tasty. You got four decent sized meatballs in a portion which was more than ample. I followed this with the mixed grill (grilled lamb cubes, minced lamb kebab, and chicken cubes served with onion and tomato) which was truly delicious - the meat was melt in the mouth and tasted divine. I ordered rice to go with this, but the pile of hot flatbread it came with was more than enough.

I was given a complementary custard-like desert at the end of the meal and encouraged to try it, which while not to my taste was a nice gesture.

As for the service, which a couple of reviews criticise, I cannot comprehend this since the service was excellent and attentive but not too much so. At no point did I feel I was being hurried, and the waiter (who told me his name was Mahmoud) was friendly and keen to help. All the staff were fantastic.

Someone else mentioned the 12.5% service charge - while it is true that the restaurant charges this, it is in lieu of a tip and is barely more than the standard industry tip. Considering the excellent service I experienced, I was happy to pay it. Similarly the prices were not extortionate - £4.25 for the starter and £11.75 for the main course, which was perfectly ok given the quality of the food.

Unlike other reviewers, who are not familiar with middle eastern food, I am and have eaten it many times at different restaurants, especially a highly-rated Turkish restaurant. Beiti blew their food out of the water - and was cheaper too.

I've never written a restaurant review before, but wanted to after experiencing the food and service at Beity. Truly exceptional and well worth a visit.

I went to Beity last month with a friend. We did enjoy the atmosphere and food over there. The staff took good care of us and manager explained on how to enjoy Lebanese food, as a tourist, this restaurant spent time which I did not have in the others. Beity took care of us, not only when you step in, but to the end. I highly recommend this one to all of you when you travel to Bayswater, London.
