The Burgershack

The food is not bad, but this restaurant has a fair claim to the worst service in London. Surly staff, whining manager and an inability to take responsbility for mistakes and honour bookings.

We went there on Valentine's day in the evening for a burger as we work around the corner. For whatever reason there was another menu on offer which included the likes of duck spring rools and grilled salmon with wilted spinach.
Being miss inquisitive, I went for the three course meal only to find that I had to wait so much longer than people who came in after us. We asked about our main courses which took nearly twenty minutes from our starters. When we asked the waitress what was happening, she said there was a communication breakdown between the printer in the kitchen and that of the restaurant.
The manager did came over and offer two more glasses of wine as the bottle we ordered had been drained by then.
Although it took what seemed like forever, the presentation of the food was impeccable! Too bad I can't say that for the quantity because the salmon was a bit small. But it went down well.
Desserts were great. I had the chocolaty-muddy something and my friend ordered some tart with passion fruit.
We had been before because we knew the burgers are great and the atmosphere is well buzzy. But on this occasion, lets say it wasn't a burger affair. Am I meant to give scores as well? Alright then, seven in total.

Quite a few of these gourmet burger style places have opened up in the past couple of years, with Gourmet Burger Kitchen being the best in my opinion. Had been past this place a few times and decided to give it try and order a bacon and cheese burger and onion rings to go. Burger was charcoal and the onion rings way overpriced at £2 a pop. Not somewhere I plan to go again.

I was strolling through Carnaby last night with my girlfriend and came accross this place. I suppose the nice candle lights caught my girlfried's eyes, so we went in. We thought then we would be served at the table, since it looked so romantic but was told to order from the counter.
As the menu had so many choices, we ordered both a chicken and a beef burger and if I'm completely honest, both were outstanding! I'm not too impressed about the fact that the fries were 2 quid extra, but the burgers, music and coosy atmosphere made up for it. Not bad, burger shack.
Oh, one more thing... I cant forget the staff. They were truly brilliant. It's not many places you go in London and find people that leaves such lasting impression.
