Where did it all go wrong?
The lack of customers on a friday night whilst next door is thriving is a sign standards have slipped.
Lack of imagination with the menu and as regulars this has not changed in years and all time favorites sea bass and Dauphenoise was bland and looked "Heated up" in the microwave as sauce was dried. My partners burger was bland and lacked the old magic, his plate of food untouched when the waitress came to remove the dishes.
Service is lacking, considering half empty on a friday night, waitress was slow and looked bored when asked if the meal was okay, when my partner mentioned the food was bland and chips very greasy, she shrugged her shoulders and walked away. No interest at all.
Our second visit in two weeks and standards have slid so wont be back.

I went to cafe Mono on a Sunday afternoon, the food was lovely but the magician they had there was absolutely brilliant. He works there from about 2 ish for a couple of hours, and he kept our kids entertained. They can t wait to go back to see him again.

Cafe Mono is our best find in Bromley - we eat here regularly, often take friends but are rarely disappointed. The menu is wide ranging and we never get bored. Their gratin dauphinois are the best, good burgers, excellent seafood especially the mussels and they do change part of the menu seasonally.
Its a modern, bright, airy and fun place to eat. Café Mono offers a truly eclectic menu with something for everyone – from fresh pasta, seafood, grills and roasts On Sundays they do a roast and have a magician (2-4pm) to entertain the children and monthly jazz nights for music lovers (first Wednesday). The service is friendly and personable.

The food was lovely - compliments to the chef. The waiter was good, although seemed slightly frustrated at times - it was a busy Friday night, so understandable. The only let down was the slightly ogre-like owner who got our reservation wrong, didn’t apologize for his error and generally had an imperious air about him. Other than that we all had a thoroughly enjoyable evening with great food and drink.

The chef's wasted in this overly priced, hothouse, where the staff are inapt and easily confused. The restaurant wasn't even half full on a Saturday evening unlike the restaurant next door!
The evening thankfully went well but only due to the company and the fantastic food the air conditioning not working made for a very uncomfortable couple of hours and the toilets are an absolute disgrace. Hopefully the chef realises his/her worth and gets the hell out of that kitchen asap

I love Cafe Mono (or Mono as it is now called). The food is top and very reasonably priced. The crab cakes are very good. It has a fantastic buzzy atmosphere and as good as you get in London. My favourite restaurant in Bromley (and London for that matter!). It is also very child friendly.
