Poor service, poor food, poor value....and I will eat anything! Don't take the chance.

We had pre-booked a table for 12 on a Saturday night. Got there on time - no table available, we then waited over 45 mins. The place was so packed that eventually they tried to sit all of us around 3 small tables in the middle of the restaurant, which isn't that big anyway!!! Manager was NOT interested in dealing with us except he kept on asking us to trust him that it would only be another 2 minutes. Needless to say we didn't hang around to try the food. This was a 40th Birthday celebration and could have been a disaster. We had a fantastic night in the end but no thanks to this!

If you want a good night out in Greenwich there are plenty of other restaurants around, don't bother with Desparados.

Just came back from this place and needed to vent so here I am. It is my birthday and my girlfriend wanted to treat me!

You may of had a fantastic meal here, the food wasn't that bad - but tonight the service really let them down and as a result we will not be going back and urge you not to take the chance!

We walked into a half empty restaurant and were seated crammed between 2 full tables of 6. when asked if we could move we were told NO. (we should have left then). They then said we could move to another table as soon as somebody else went – so we continued to order our starter. Our starter arrived - and the other table left we moved onto their table only to be told half way through the move that we couldnt go there. We eventually were moved to yet another table, and as we sat down our half eaten starter was taken away - when we asked where it had gone they presented our main course! Ridiculous! We finished our meal and asked for the bill. The bill arrived with the service charge added. when we said that we were happy to pay for the meal but not the added tip. we were then told we had to pay for it and the manager came over, after 5mins of talking with a confrontational manager we left.

First visit to Greenwich whilst visiting London and happened to find Desperados. A cold January night outside but as soon as you stepped into the restaurant their was warmth. I cannot fault one thing with the restaurant - great value for money, house wine great, food outstanding, service exceptional. I have found a number of restaurants in London very poor in Customer Service - not at Desperados. Very attentive without being intrusive - the little touches of allowing time between courses and checking if you would like more was very good. I love Mexican food and have to say that this restaurant rates very highly - the complementary drink at the end was a great finishing touch to a wonderful experience and i will definately be visiting again when in London

we had to wait 35 mins for a table , my boyfriend ordered a steak and when it came was not cook properly so he ha dto wait 30 mins .

horrible service aswell!!!

If there ever was a resturant that said come in and eat your fill of quality food this is it, i had my first 12oz burger and my friends at new years eve joined in the fun.

Staff were excellent service was a in a class above the rest. went there yesterday and going back there tonight. if you do get a chance they serve real pina coladas not the usual watery stuff.

I visited this restaurant last night with some friends from work. I have to say it was a great atmosphere from the moment we walked in, the music was lively, the staff very chatty and friendly and after we had our delicious meals, the staff encouraged us to dance and even danced with us! We had a fanastic night and it ended at 2am!!

I went to this restaurant with my wife and child. All I can say is that I wish I had not bothered. My starter of grilled sardines was awful (the sardines were off and intensely and stinkingly so!)and I had to alert the manager to it, the main courses were badly cooked, bland, definitely so un-mexican and not worth either the wait or the price. The restaurant was too dark (which is always suspicious as I like to see what I eat and the standard of hygiene of where I eat) and the waitress quite unpleasant. When we settled our (exhorbitant for the poor quality) bill, I was advised that as a token of goodwill I would not be charged for the sardines, that were off in the 1st place??!!! I thouht that that went without saying! I do like to promote local businesses, but I cannot bring myself to recommend this one. Enter at your perils and only if your are really"desperado" for food!
