Had a table for 11 at Gallipoli Again, 120 Upper St, on Sunday 30th August. Slightly confusing that there are three branches so close to each other. You need to be sure about which one you are booking.
Previous reviewers are right. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions generous. (I am fussy about food having run my own catering business.) We were originally going to have the meze, at £7.95 per head, but thought it might not be enough for lunch as everyone was hungry....what a mistake.
Instead, most of us had the £11.95 set menu of vegetarian meze, a choice of main course from the a la carte menu, dessert and coffee.
Just the meze alone would have been plenty......but the main course Harem Chicken Kebab and Lamb Iskender were particularly good. Try the delicious and refreshing Turkish Apple Tea instead of coffee.
We sat in the garden which is a bit rough and ready, and the chairs are not particularly comfortable. But we will definitely eat here again, as the food is so good and it is handy for Sadler's Wells. Website: www.cafegallipoli.com

being of Turkish origin and living in london, i can truly say that this restaurant is NOT a good representation of what true Turkish food tastes like. the meals were not cooked properly and were cold, the starters were not to my liking either. the prices are too high and i didnt like the service. the decor is good though.

I have been here three time and always enjoyed the food but my friends and I were really caught out on a recent visit. Beware the service charges - we all paid on separate cards to dicover later we were each charged service. A meal of £45.00 with a service charge of £24.00. What a rip off. Check your bill - carefully.

Well, went along to Gallipoli for the first time on Saturday night, there was a group of six of us, what a fantastic dining experience. The hummous, pita bread and falafel were extremely nice, as were all the other dishes we sampled, the aubergine and the turkish sausage were great. Would definately recommend this place, great atmosphere including dancing on chairs for people's birthdays, we had a lovely waitress who was very helpful and friendly. Will be back before long!!
